I've just read the awful story of the final weeks of torture, then death of Duwayne Pailegutu. See today's herald for the full story. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10572666
The sentences passed down in relation to this do not fit the crime. Not severe enough. The mother especially has gotten off lightly, and she is appealing. The bottom line is the taxpayer pays for everything here: The court-time, lawyers, prisons, social workers, police time, basically everything. I'm sick of paying tax to a limp-wristed government in a crime riddled country. It is sickening.

Sensible Sentencing Trust

I've just looked up the trusts website as well as read a little bit of commentary about their activities. Right wing defined is: 'those who support political or social or economic conservatism; those who believe that things are better left unchanged'. I don't think they can be described as such.
