can anybody translate the first track on Anika's new album 'Broken Hill' for me...very beautiful album!!!
just have to say how exciting it is watching Shihad in Australia, have been in this country for 2 months now and seen Shihad three times, at The Zoo in Brisbane, The Great Northern in Byron Bay and Federation Square in Melbourne and Australians absolutely love them (as do i and everone i know). Was a great follow on from seeing them ROCK Nelson into the new year at the Cusp. Memorable moment: The 'Jonny' chant in Byron - fantastic, well deserved. Also the Shihad knowledge of my 5 year old, when watching Shihad at Federation Square and they played 'Comfort Me' he goes "Mum, i thought we were watching Shihad, not Pacifier".
Cant wait to finally see you guys live again, its been so long - 2 Jan 2004? at River Inn in Takaka (still one of my favourite nights ever) after you played The Cusp. Getting my tickets tomorrow to The Palace in St Kilda. Very excited to see/hear some quality kiwi music, and Kora too! it'll be all my Christmas at once!!
Well i lost my copy, after buying 3 copies in one week to pass on to friends overseas i'm guessing somebody thought i was being greedy and that i wouldn't miss one, now i have none. But at least whoever borrowed it (without asking) will be enjoying it, so i can't complain, for $15 it's a bargain, i don't mind getting a forth copy, it's gotta be good for them.
Totally loving new Betchadupa, please come play in Nelson some time soon, you guys rocked at The Cusp a few years ago, hanging out for another live show
i watched you again yesterday,at Blender (first time with your new guitarist) and it was fantastic! Some of your sections like in the third song you played toward the end of the song and many more were just epic, i couldn't believe my ears. The whole set was great, i left after you guys feeling very satisfied. Can definately see you're going to take over the NZ music scene.
...so stay with me and we'll have it made..
I used to think that song was written for me,love Blind Melon, don't really know too many other people that do though.
I disagree that Pussy Glitch are more talented than The Mint Chicks, however i think it would be very fair to say that they are equally just as talented...
im not talking bout the rest of the band, they're all equally so fucking talented(sorry bout the language but no other word could sum it up strong enough) but to notice appearance over what i was hearing...whatever
How did u even notice the mullet, the drumming is so insanely great..the rest was a blur.....
I'm left speechless...nothing i could say could possibly describe the feelings felt by all at the Phat Club on thursday night. Nothing in NZ music could compare to the show that these two bands put on, i've had the cd in constant rotation since. Genius!
Haven't seen any Nelsonites yet....We'll if you answered your damn emails, would have loved to come up and see you all, watched your squeeze thing round at A.k.a's house yesterday , look after yourselves, take some vitamins. Love the new website. Miss you guys heaps, can't wait to catch up, Daz and I will be here till the end of the year now so you'll have to come and play some time soon or you could save it til NYE...
i watched The Mint Chicks with Pussy Glitch at The Phat Club in Nelson 2 nights ago and i'm still on the biggest high i've ever been on from watching a live show. They're genius, prodigys at what they do. I've been to The Phat many times before with it being completely packed out with everyone dancing, compared to Mint Chicks the other night with about 30 people in the room i've never experienced something so great, everyone that was there stood in awe after every song, screaming with such anticipation for what they were about to hear next. The crowd was amazing, true appreciation at the fact they were at a small, high energy, intimate show of one of the best bands in the world!!! I can't wait to see these guys again.
now you just need to empty your mailbox a little so that i can send mail back to you. Got your email Josh, thank you, tried sending one back but it said you were full so i'll try send it again tomorrow.
hey Jono i cant get onto your website and i need your email address. Hows Melbourne, i'm coming over soon so get in touch, can't wait! Say hi to everybody for me and lots of hugs.
miss you guys already, can't wait to catch up in Oz!! Phat missions till we meet again, Love you all XO
has anyboby mentioned Crumb because otherwise i would like to
//Fur Patrol - Cutting peoples ears off just is lame...
Jakob - have to say it but your music is just too sleep inducing...
i don't mind watching ears being cut off if it means i get to listen to phat nz rock rather than fake wannabe american pop rockers.
As for Jakob, i guess you need to learn to appreciate a bit of class
what do you mean, what do you think Zed are trying to sing about, it's all fake and i don't think it's so great they're representing NZ all over the world when they sound like Australians and they have other bands writing their music. This isn't what we want the rest of the world thinking of our original kiwi music
//I'm into a lot of different things, but mainly progressive, well-written material that moves the soul.
well then you should definately check out Mother Guru

The Cusp line just keeps getting better and better. I've seen these boys play once and they were amazing, can't wait to see them at New Years with a bigger stage and sound
I couldn't find Kora on the artist pages so i'll start something here..I just can't keep quiet on this one..I watched Kora for the 4th time on Thursday and they were amazing...they just get better and better every time, the crowd reponse was awesome and after Sal Dubs excellent finish it felt good to be a kiwi...That's all.. if you haven't seen Kora yet make sure you're front row at their next gig...it's such a pleasure you couldn't possibly understand until you see them and hear them for yourself..
