“White Island” is the name I have chosen for my musical outlet. I am David Bennett - songwriter, guitarist/singer/musician, and "White Island" producer from Wellington, New Zealand. Te Puia o Whakaari (White Island in Maori) is a volcano situated within the Taupo geographical boundaries of my New Zealand Maori tribe, Ngati Tuwharetoa. Presently "White Island" is a studio project with the sole creative contributor being yours truly. I have one album recorded titled "Songs Of Love, Hate, Hope & Despair". I finished this album in August 2007, performing all tasks myself in my studio (Siamese Sound). I would describe the music as modern rock, with pop harmony hooks, and lashings of over the top guitar pyrotechnics! I am interested in getting my music to as many ears as possible, and that is now a critical goal. Although I have little value for fame and fortune, I do have considerable respect for other peoples opinions, and the integrity of creating "art", be it music, or other. I'm grateful that you have chosen to listen to the music I have created. By listening to these tunes you will come to learn more about me. Creating these songs has been an emotional and enjoyable experience, and although my songs are not strictly “autobiographical”, I hope that anyone who listens might find some common ground.
