SIKNIK: PRODUCER/DJ/SINGER/SONG WRITER.....
Siknik is the invention of Nick Swanson, an electronic producer/dj/song writer, producing a range of styles from Drum and Bass, IDM, breakbeat, and Hip hop. Siknik is the total concept of sickness, grime, and the darker side of humanity, based around dark themes and perversion, with a dark sense of humor.
Siknik has been featured on UPFM's "the beat dungeon", and is played on radio stations across NZ!
“The Beats in your brains EP” came about with the title track being remixed by infamous UK Drum and bass producer, Breakbeatpimp, who has played along side the likes of Roni Size, Goldie, Metalheadz, Adam F, to name a few, The remix is the song we know today..A Video for “Beats in your Brains” is in the talks at the moment with award winning 3D Animator “Rhyce Barker”.
The rest of the CD is 3 other tracks made solely by SIKNIK, in the drum and bass/ambient style “made for people on downers or escaped mental patients” -siknik, 2007.
The Cd is the first single off a full length cd “Depravity”due to be released next year.
Songs of Leonard Cohen, a tribute by “The Great Hoax” live @ the Welsh dragon,
Thursday, November the 27th at 7pm. Free Entry!
On Thursday, November the 27th at 7pm, Wellington alternative two piece “The Great Hoax” will do an acoustic tribute to legendary singer/song writer “Leonard Cohen”,
Playing all the classics from “Suzanne” to “Famous Blue Raincoat”.
Considering the real deal in January is sold out, this could be a good substitute,
with “The Great Hoax” spending a great deal of time perfecting the vocal and guitar style of Cohen, most notably of his early work.
It’s a free gig, so please come along and have a drink in wellington’s cozy Welsh style bar “The Welsh Dragon” in the middle of the road of Cambridge and Kent Terrace.
For more details on “The Great Hoax”, please check out www.myspace.com/greathoaxnz
