Rock n roll!
Hey all, Dave here from Miscreant. It's been a while since i've posted here but thought i'd shed some light on what we've been up to the past year! We spent much of 2008 writing and recording our debut 14 track album with Andrew Buckton. We had it mastered in new york at sterling sound and it sounds pretty darn sweeeeet! We're currently doing some behind the scenes shit (artwork, managers, distribution, video, etc etc.) and hope to have it out there real soon.
If yas are keen to hear the new album version of our track Hey Mister you can stream or download it (for free) from our myspace page at www.myspace.com/miscreantmusic
we'll have more tracks up soon.....
Peace out!!
-Dave

Miscreant is a four piece rock band that formed in 2004 based in Auckland, New Zealand. After spending 6 months
sweating it out in Studio 203 with acclaimed producer Andrew Buckton, Miscreant are now gearing up to rock
the New Zealand music scene with the release of their Debut Album 'Complicated Characters' due out in 2008.
Miscreant have had two singles enjoying air time on a number of radio stations, including New Zealands own 'The Rock FM' &
more recently 'The Edge' with a video single 'Hey Mister' featuring on NZ music channels such as Alt TV and Juice.
The 2nd radio single 'Fight For Me' is a compelling shoot-from-the-hip rock track which is now airing on TV and radio stations nationwide. Request it on your favorite TV and radio stations now!
Throughout their time, Miscreant have played at just about every gutter, bar and dingy lounge in and around Auckland to fine
tune their rock and have evolved into one of the countries finest up and coming rock bands. The boys plan on
taking their rock out and about this year with a heap of shows in support of their debut album, so stay tuned.

Check out the debut video from Miscreant. The single Hey Mister is on this months off the record segment on the rock fm.
Labeled as a summer song, Hey Mister delves into how our perceptions of people can affect our ability to learn from others who may not share the same values or ideals as we do. By understanding differences, we can overcome them and live a full life.

personally, i dont have a problem with that, i like to know about new music and give it a listen.. and give something back to the artist.. wether it be constructive criticism or kudos. the internet is a great medium between artist and listener so whats the problem? More time and energy seems to be going towards taking the piss out of everyone instead of what we should be doing, supporting..

Hey all,
Auckland rockers Miscreant are seeking a rhythm guitarist/vocalist. We have made a few changes to the lineup, we're now a 4 piece (the core 4 of the band), and we seek a kickass Rhythm guitarist/vocalist to fill in the gap that the rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist added!
Vocal ability must be very good as to be able to harmonize with lead vox and some solid rhythm guitar skills are also required, though not limited to just rhythm of course, sharing lead is sweet as! Ya must own some decent gear and have some live experience preferably. We have a PA and mics. Must be able to jam couple nights a week, we have a factory (drummers work) on the nth shore we rehearse at up to 3 nights a week (two weeknights, sometimes on the weekend). Rehearsals are chilled, few beers and jammy jam jam jam!
New single coming up next month (recording late July), airplay, and recording an album at york st in the next 6 months, no time wasters! Still writing a lot of material for the album, ability for creative input is a winner.. serious people only who wana join the miscreant band wave and kick it with one of Aucklands best up and coming rock bands! Our style isn't limited to rock, you'll just have to come have a jam to see what we mean..
Check out our websites with sound & video samples below.
Please e-mail dave@miscreantband.com with some info about yourself and possibly a sound sample of you performing online would save a lot of time setting up an audition.
Cheers

PS> Don't ask if you're curious about this, this is serious, but we are not releasing anything about whats going on till it's necessary. The band is still cranking and in high spirits!! cheers.
I like how he gets that full wall of guitars sound to perfection, a mates band also did a recording with him and that sounded mean, not many nz producers can achieve this as well as he does imo from what i've heard, so thats why we went with him, didn't let us down!
All good mate! The recording is sweet, and a good name to have on one of your recordings.
Is that you Alex ,by some chance?
thanks for the opinion bro.. though i rekon you could say the same about majority of the stuff on radio nowadays ;-)
It was all good, a great experience for a young band like us, except the timeframe literally was around about 8-9 months, we tracked the drums in september 2005, the rest in november 2005, and got the final mix may 2005.. haha.. so the song is old as for us and the novelty wore off after the first few months because of how long it took, and we have a lot of new and better songs now that we wish we had recorded instead, and will now record at york st. but it's good as to have worked with malcolm we're stoked with the recording. But he's a busy man, wouldn't record with him again if we wanted anything in a short time frame.. but definately worth it if you can get him to record one of your tracks and not expect it any time soon.
Thought i'd also mention, we're currently writing an album, have been recording demos at York st and should get in there by the end of the year to record about 10 more tracks, have some kickass new tracks, and lots more to come so stay tuned!
cheers
Hey all, we've got our song back from Los Angeles that was produced over there by Malcolm Welsford, and tracked here in Auckland by Evan Cooper. Sounds rather huge, please check it out! Rip, burn & share!
