VILLAGE OF THE IDIOTS with AKANAME

VILLAGE OF THE IDIOTS is an 11-piece experimental improv/jazz/rock ensemble led by Wellington master improv-drummer Ant Donaldson with music inspired by the likes of Can, Magma, Captain Beefheart, Ornette Coleman, King Crimson et al.

This will be AKANAME's last Wellington show before members start boosting to Melbourne.

Wednesday April 9th, doors from 9pm - R18, $10 entry.

Akaname

Wellington experimental noise-grind hextet has recently signed to US indie-grind label Debello Recordings who will release their debut 5 song EP "Filthlicker" this November and a limited run 12" vinyl pressing of the EP will also be available in early '08.

A full NZ tour is in planning for Feb/Mar 2008, and a US tour with fellow Debello bands is slated for June/July 2008

there's no store room as such - but plenty of space in the lounge for stashing band equipment etc, we are pretty secure (locks etc)...the lift doesnt work but its only 2nd floor. this may not suit some ppl but we get by fine without it.

$110 = rent, food, power, rubbish bags. u sort ur own food /washin powder etc

male or female flattie needed for single room in central 5 bdrm warehouse-ish flat (cuba)...

would most suit musos (a few of the flatties bands practice here intermittantly) or artist types ... incredibly convenient location - having said that, room applicants will definately need to be noise tolerant.
