Soulseek has no ads. It was designed to share electronic music, but has a variety of things there - whatever anyone connected to it sharing, obviously.
Yeah, at the very least the singer/lyricist is gay.
The only tune of there's I actually know is 'Denim Demon'.. check out the lyrics!! (nb. pretty filthy) This is off an album called 'Ass Cobra'... which also includes a song called 'Sailor Man', I just noticed!

haha... nice call irieman. :)
Arrgh.. OK, perhaps I should've just said:
I think it's lame, boring, and ignorant (and whatever else I've been accused of) to make blanket
criticisms of a genre of music in a topic about how someone likes that genre. I also think it's
asking for argumentative replies to be homophobic and stereotype listeners as being gay.
Boy, that sure would've been fun, wouldn't it? :P I guess at least people would get what I was trying to say...
Um, maybe re-read the "dance music" thread. I don't believe anything I wrote above about metal, those who play it or those who listen to it. If you really don't get why I wrote that stuff, i'm happy to be more explicit.
Sheesh, do you think I didn't realise Rob Halford was gay!? ;)
I love that DMX track, but I listen to quite a bit of hip-hop.. so dunno.
'Jenny from the Block' by Jennifer Lopez definitely sticks in my head... as does Tom Cochrane's 'Life is a Highway'. I hate that song to an almost irrational degree.
ps. see the thread "dance music" if this makes no sense to you. It may still make no sense, but never mind...
When I saw the thread about metal here in the Bar I desperately wanted to get in there and write something like:
Metal sucks!!! Metalheads just get stoned when tehy should be up shaking their rumps and dancing!! All metallers aren't at all gay and suck no cocks!!! Metal requires people to play instruments and all that bollox when they should just be writing dance tracks!!!
... but then two wrongs don't make a right, eh?
:)
I think I can safely let slip that I'll be playing a gig in Wellington on the weekend of March 14-16th. Probably the Sunday night. First gig in NZ since... August 2001, I think?
Hey all... sad no one's mentioned the fact Midnight Marauders got picked up and re-released by a German label, Best Sevens... Or maybe I'm just blind. likely... Such a wicked tune, deserves to be heard by the world, I reckon.
Signer's 'Low Light Dreams' album seems to be going damn well.. he did a tour round US, Canada with PanAmerican, who's pretty wicked (solo project of one of the guys from Labradford) and then more round Europe.
don't know if it's got distro in New Zealand. probably not, it's through carpark records out of New York.
Hey all , if anyone out there checks this page I've put up a site finally.
New album should be out soon. Check http://www.capitalrecordsings.co.nz for that.
oops.
