Captain Relaxo has been around since 2001, originally called The Steve Asplin Band, the group played in and around Palmerston North and Wellington with a focus on alt rock with acoustic trim.
Playing at venues like Harvesters and the Olde Bailey the group went on to support Neil Finn in his Orientation show in Palmerston North and then decided to concentrate on recording.
After five years of getting very little accomplished Blair Asplin, Steve's brother, stepped in and got them on the right track, before the end of 2007 they will have an album close to completed with a whole host of rock goodness.
They have been described as a mix of what you'd get if you mixed Radiohead with Pink Floyd.
