Well hey, if people are buying their eps just cos they think they are cool - or going to the concerts to say they have been - then The Mint Chicks are laughing all they way to the bank!

The funny thing is that these people will go along and realise they do really like the band and do like what they see...
They can't be that bloody bad if they have just scooped 2 awards: best song and best rock release at the bnet awards...and dont the public vote...hmmmm
Anyway - the public of NZ generally hate bands if they are doing well, i don't know why - but there is NO support for local bands, there is some sort of jealously/resentment thing that happens. It is weird, especially if The Mint Chicks were to move away to another country, then the NZ public would call them trators etc etc. And wo be tired if ozzie were to claim them.
The Mint Chicks are nice guys - extremely talented and make bloody good music! NZ should be proud of them - if any of them were here in London to see The Mint Chicks performances/shows recently, then i think they would be eating their shoes! They were fantastic and i can't wait till they come back again!
Um no, The Mint Chicks didn't 'leave' it wasn't a permanent move, they did some net working had a ball and hopefully will come back to london!...has only been 2 months since they were here, and they did it all without having an album yet...

They aint trying to be 'anything' or 'cool' they are cool. C'mon people - they have already been to the UK and the States and haven't even released an album yet...that in itself says these guys are wicked.
I can see it now - they will probably become really big, and move away and you guys will all be complaining at how Australia is claiming them!

I have to say The Mint Chicks were wicked - those guys are gonna be big - they opened with impact, jaws dropped and people were all 'woah!'.
The middle band was crap!
hmmm you will see music response is on at 4...when all the kids are home for school...hence the 'indie' now what you want to listen to is x posure...who brilliantly bought us The Mint Chicks a few weeks back, and a mighty fine show it was....even filmed! X fm is the better radio station in UK - considering every other is clogged with pop.

I was privileged enough to catch them up here in the UK - and they were wicked, Haven't seen a band so refreshing in a long time - brilliant stage presence, great songs and basically a band i can't get enough of - can't wait to see them up here again...they are gonna explode up here! Great to see a band making a good name for NZ music worldwide!
I can tell you right now that the mint chicks do not 'TRY' to sound like any band - they make music - full stop. They have been making music for years, not trying, just doing what comes naturally...

You guys suck! negitive bullshit - heres something, learn to play an instrument, write some original music, sign a record deal, film some videos and then tell me how shit it is to have people compare you to bands....the mint chicks are wicked, they are young and talented, they are high energy, and i can't wait to see their next move. The Mint Chicks are brilliant - Full stop! They are wicked live and their video is awesome! Of course they arent going to have the same effect as a live show - no band's video do - i don't know one band that have the same effect on video as they do live...!

I agree, it doesn't really matter where they are from and whether they are living in NZ or not - as long as they are out there, producing music for people to hear - then good on them!!
NZers get way too hung up on this sort of nonsence - it is hard for bands to get ahead, and unfortunately to make money they have to escape NZ, cos there aint no cash there! they don't forget who they are...
