have these young men released the best debut ep since... I don't know when? wadda ya reckon?
//why take the risk?
because it saves them $ in transporting their own gear, & when you travel you'll get a lender yourself. in most pub gigs the back line gear is used by all bands anyway. where's your socialist spirit simon?
that said - mint chicks should come with a warning: "loud & a little bit ADD"
emo = emotional rock
saves the day, the get up kids, etc. (nothing like the mint chicks)
you'll find the dress code here:
I'd probably catergorise that as 'sexual assault' rather than 'rock'n roll'. bed wetter.
not sure if this ones been discussed:
"The Austin Chronicle has run a story reporting an on-stage fight between the Mint Chicks and Kevin Brybee of Austin band The Arm at a South by Southwest gig. Brybee was apparently unhappy with the way the Mint Chicks were playing the drums that he'd leant them and attempted to storm the stage. When the dust settled Brybee had a split head and the Mint Chicks got their photo in the Austin Chronicle."
Witnessed by our own bizgirl ( http://bizgirl.blogspot.com/2005/03/my-names-wayne.html )
Check out the full Austin Chronicle article and see a photo of Kodi getting ready for some mic stand action.
God bless you mint chicks for the rock'n fuck'n roll.

"The cure have given a new meaning to the word crap" - Morrissey.
"At least we've given a new meaning to the word, not built a career out of it" – Robert Smith.
"I'm delighted the smiths no longer exist" - Robert Smith
"If morrissey became a vegetarian, i'd eat meat- thats how much i hate morrissey" – Robert Smith
"I'm claming celebacy, as the only person worthy of having sex with me, is myself" - Morrissey.
"The best thing to come out of sheffield are pulp, and they're shit" – Nicky Wire- manic street preachers.
"I don't like animal porn, its boring, just the same thing- different animal" - Richey Edwards- manic street preachers
"music for bedwetters" - Alan McGee on coldplay
Mogwai t-shirt: Blur Are Shite
Blur t-shirt: Mogwai Are ??
"Well, I'd rather make a cup of tea than listen to that, which is what I'm doing at the moment. Everything I dislike about music, Bryan Adams is the epitomy. Corporate rock, terrible production, designed for radio, no thought, no soul, no sensitivity, no sex, inoffensive, easy, involves nothing. You can't even compare it to his other stuff because how can you compare turkeys? A turkey is a turkey"- Richey Edwards
Does the madness of Britpop and the Blur feud now seem distantand faintly ridiculous to you?
Liam: The Blur/Oasis thing was very silly but it was fun. I meant every word I said. They're still a bunch of goons but...
N: The thing that still pisses me off to this day is that cuntfuck said we engineered the battle with his bunch of wankers. Oasis don't need to compete with a bunch of cunts who did A-level music. They're fakers.
Liam: That Gorillaz album – fucking rubbish.
Noel: All that, "I'm happy, feeling glad/Got sunshine in a bag?... " That was beyond comedy. That cunt is like, "Is there a bandwagon passing? Park it outside my house." He'll be in a heavy metal band next year when it's fashionable. He's nothing. And it's fitting that he ended up as a cartoon. He always was a cartoon.
Shit sandwich.
Add you favourates here...
I love Greta's drumming. & she is beaaautiful. I fell in love with her at the old bodega years ago.... still haven't plucked up the courage to ask her to have my babies.
on their web site they have: gene :: dean :: oscar :: listed as members, but no mention of people leaving/arriving. What happened to chris???
Highly recommend Hikoikoi Reserve on at the far too early time of 11am. The whole programme is here:

Wa-hoooo, flying nun have finally got their shit together:
"Also on the way is a reissue of the 1996 'Tiger' album by Superette, which will include all the tracks from the band's earlier EPs 'Touch Me' and 'Rosepig' - on one remastered disc. That's handy! The Superette reissue and the Toy Love 'Cuts' will be released April 25th 2005."
God bless 'em.
they were a great live band - hilarious. but I never understood why HLAH were so much more popular than the likes of HIOP though. Perhaps if HIOP had got their cocks out? who knows.
what a great week for the old school. all we need now is JPSE & bilge festival.
//they don't have much capital to put into recording, or do they?
The way I understood it (for indie labels in general) was the band pays for the recording & the label pays for the production of cds & promotion (which is paid back by the band through royalties). Can anyone confirm/deny without giving away ya trade secrets?
//given the same information
it's the interpretation of that information that distinguishes those with ears and those without a clue.
I hear where you're coming from - everyones opinion is as valid as the next, it's down to perception, there's no ultimate truth, etc. But on a message board with 23,000+ members I'd rather listen to those that have got something worth saying. Is that wrong?
//But that is just your opinion ...
vastly superior observation there stu.
nothing to do with validity - some folk have got their ears screwed on better than others. John Peel had an opinion worth listening to, Ray Coloumbus not so much - same as on this board.
If you weren't any good before you took drugs, you'll be even worse once you start taking them = drugs just put a wee spin on what you were originally doing.
As a side note - after meeting brian wilson at one of those record signing things, I had to question whether it was worth it. I love his music (s'pesh pet sounds) but the guy is fucked (his management were giving him lollies to motivate him to keep signing cds), it was really sad to realise the guy had lost the ability to relate to people through the process of making a handful of wonderful albums on drugs.
it's not so much about whether music is mainstream or not - it's just that some of our opinions ARE vastly superior to others. not naming names, mind.
triangles = freemasons? how does this fit into your conspiracy:
