Ryan from Sommerset is/was the NZ agent for Green.
You can contact him on ryan@sommerset.net.nz but he is on tour right now so he might not be able to reply straight away.
OK, being an old cunt, I remember the day it was lowered. It was not a pretty day. Loads of young kids getting absolutely trolloped just because they could. Not to say it didn't happen before but it seemed alot worse after. One guy even had a note from his mum saying he was old enough. Since then there have been a whole lot more dicks drinking in bars. Poor old George at the Box used to have to give clubbing lessons to these kids who thought they could do what ever they wanted. I Am sure these dicks are far outweighed by the number of responsible 18 and 19 year old drinkers but unfortunately, these dicks are the ones getting the attention.
I hear the arguments about "we can fight for our country, vote etc.". Yes you can do that but can you drink responsibly? Not in the bars I've been in. In reply to the people who are promoting a higher age for off licence purchases but a lower age if you eat something. You come up against the argument of what is a "substantial meal." There is too much grey area. This was one of the reasons it was changed. The drinking age was not lowered to be fairer to 18 year olds. It was lowered to reduce the complexity that resided within liqour laws. It used to be a big mess and cause alot of confusion, it is much clearer now.
It is also now alot harder to get into bars. When the age was 20, you could get in if you looked about old enough, now you MUST show photographic ID. So there were alot of 18-20 people in the bars anyway. The difference was they were in there illegally so they kept a much lower profile and subsequently learnt how to behave in that environment. Now they are in there legally and some think they are gods and can do whatever they like.
When the US raised it's age up from 18 to 21, dink drive accidents went down 30%.
Just a little info from someone who has seen both sides of the coin.
Might help if this website had some actual products on it instead of just some links to manufacturers. Pretty crap really.
EVEN YOU can really be a soul winner with illustrated tracts!

Getting your music into the top 40 is not selling out. Changing your musical style, whether it's your own decision or the decision of the record company, in order to get the music into the top 40 is selling out. Selling out certainly does exist.
Sommersets latest single "Inside" is now available as an mp3 on their website.
Go to sommerset.co.nz, download it and rock out
Then go and request it on your favourite radio station.
“So you might have to find some other way to fund your organic dark bluegrass shred crossover experiment.????????????”
This was a joke trying to explain that if your music is not in a commercially acceptable genre then it is not likely to receive funding from NZ on Air. Sorry if it went over your head. I shall try to dumb it down for you in the future.
“Now as far as being commercially successful, anything with enough funding can be commercially successful!!”
You are showing your ignorance now. Would you buy a record just because it was produced by the most expensive producer in the world or recorded at Abbey Road or because it was advertised alot. People generally don’t buy music they don’t like, no matter how much money has been thrown at it.
“I actually do not play music and am not trying to get any funding for any music projects either!!”
“also if a NZer went to tonga to play music I doubt the tongan broadcasting commission would fund thier videos, this is a one way street and the I am missing out because of it!!!”
If you do not play music and are not trying to get funding, how are you missing out?
“Now why would a New Zealander sing about coming from tonga or samoa and especially swinging on coconut trees which incidently do not grow in NZ?”
Some people are proud of their ancestry. Doesn’t make them any less of a New Zealander.
“Who knows the people that choose what plays because I will have to get on thier case as well.”
Yes, I agree. If you don’t like what is being played on tv, radio etc. then contact and them and request something else. You will soon find out if the rest of their audience agrees with you.
NZ on Air funds music that will be commercially successful. The aim is to get more NZ music played on commercial radio. So they are really only interested in music that will be successful on commercial radio. So you might have to find some other way to fund your organic dark bluegrass shred crossover experiment. There are other funding options available such as CreativeNZ.
Also, NZ on Air does not have much say in what gets played on the TV. That is mostly up to the television station and they are going to play what rates the highest.
BTW both Nesian Mystic and King Kapisi are from NZ.

Technicaly, road rules don't actually apply to carparks. It is private land, therefore not a road.
A bong is not something designed to minimise the harm of marijuana use, it is designed to FOR marijuana use. If you want to minimise the harm, I suggest you don't use it at all.
Song - I hope that you're unhappy - Farside
Ablum - Anything by Farside or Saves the Day.

I am doing popmus102. I really enjoy it. Far better than the maths/compsci degree I am doing now. I am going to change into that degree next year.
It is not a course to learn about being a pop star. It seems to focus more on the industry and technology.
And charging a pretty penny for it to. $62.50 is too much for me.
So is she trying to say that now smokers won't go out anymore and therefore she has to shut her bar?
And I can eat ice cream for dinner and stay up as late as I want.
Oh yeah, bLINDspott ROX, ur all fags.
Why is it that when someone doesn't like a band and voices that opinion, it immediately becomes "Tall poppy sndrome". Can it not just be "Don't like this band and feel I need to express my opinion about it syndrome". That's what I was just wondering.
It's not illegal to copy CD's. Nor is it illegal to run programs on your computer. (Most of the time.)
rrp on an SG400 is $950. Thats what I paid for it 4 months ago. The case is worth about $200. The price is negotiable however.
