really, thats cool because a spot has just become available at this show im organising. its not a paid affair but its fine if all you want to do is play a gig. anyway its at karori preschool this sunday at 730am. you have to be there and set up an hour before you play, and we expect you to play for aproximately 3 hours. the upside is that the PA is provided - 15watt Ross vocal amp thru a 4" tweeter. the 'stage' is outdoors on the school field, so i suggest you bring some plasctic sheets to cover your amps with because the weather forecast is wet southerly gale force winds. we help out here if need be. also we would expect you to do a meet and greet with all our new teachers after the show, and at 2pm we would be delighted if you could conduct a motivational speech for all of our kids at the school. tea and cookies provided. any queries?

sorry for being a bit quiet, but i have only now just surfaced from fri night. thanks heaps to all the bands - and all the people that came and enjoyed it. the night went about as smooth as it could have considering, i had a fucking amazing time, and was stoked to see my favourite welli bands play. super big-ups to justin from blue set, who spent about 3 hours playing tetris with speaker cabinets and pa rigs for the gig.
as for all of you asking about whether there will be more stuff there, i am working on something right now.
it will blow the first one out of the water.
there seems to be a fuckload of confusion and whatnot about the watkins party this friday. whos going to get in, whos playing, what does it cost, is my new neo jazz classical indie death metal band ever going to be able to play there, and are these really the five crappest bands in wellington. i didnt want to post anything here about it - but considering all the rumours ive heard about this free, open party, i reckon a few things need straigtening out.
the whole night is free. so whether you have an invite or not, you wont need to pay to get in. if you already have an invite for the night, fuckin great! just get there between 9 and 10 and youll be in with a grin. if you dont have an invite (and considering the number of invites i was allowed to print - im figuring theres lots of you out there), try asking one of the bands that are playing for some. i gave all invites to the bands to give away, and saved about 20 for people that probably wouldnt get one off a band.
if you still dont have an invite, dont worry. just get there before 10pm when the doors will open to fill any small cracks and gaps of the bar with even more people. so basically bring anyone you think would like to come.
other smallities:
there will be cheap tequila and beer on the night.
if this gig rules there could be more gigs, so if you are in a band you
should come - its a fucking amazing venue.
if you dont know what the fuck i am talking about, or who is playing, you shouldnt be reading this.
the gig is not "private and confidential" like the invite says, take a joke mother fucker.
the party goes to 3am, then we go up to indigo for after party till 6am.
it is a small bar, and an amazing lineup, so there will be people who miss out.
there will be surprise entertainment on the night.
