Odd. I get off the pc & switch on TV, & there's Billy Preston playing on Later with Jools Holland. Quite cool how Jools drummer is the guy that used to play for UK Squeeze. He's such a great drummer.

Originally it was the 3 guys photoed on their 1st album. I saw them a while ago & it was 2 of those guys & a girl on bass. She was a great bassist actually.
I saw them recently & was kind of dissapointed. Its the same singer, but with a totally different band. A lot of the magic just isn't there anymore.
Pluto and Voom will be so much fun. Someone told me that they might tour Australia with institute this year. Is that true? I'd love to be at one of those shows.

1- christianity trades on humility, absolutely NOT on smugness; seeing as smugness is closely allied with pride, 1 of the 7 deadlys.
2- you have your faith, congratulations. But you make the fatal mistake of thinking that that faith fills in for everything. That is the hallmark of the smug christian. You have made it crystal clear that you have no grip on history, politics, or the bible even. Your post about Leviticus & the Pharisees for example demonstrates that you have no knowledge of the development of christianity explicit in the old testament.

I went and thought that they were great. Like a mixture of Coldplay and the Feelers with just massive ammounts of that Buzzy soulbaring wistfulness. Some enthralled girlie even jumped up on stage and gushed over Buzz, called him Truthman. Plus I didn't realize what great musicians the rest of the guys are, totally minimalistic brilliance. The ex-Augustino dude has all these basslines where he'll play one thing only while the guitars & melodies change all over it, superb. As for the guitar solo in the middle of the I want my baby song theat the ex-Goodshirt guy has come up with, total genius.
