well when ya form a band, generally whatever comes out is a mix of every musicians musical influences combined into something, it's very rare that a good band will go in and intentionally try to be someone else, i think thats a stupid excuse or reason for not liking a band and is more a compliment for the band than anything, 'you sound like pearl jam, or eddie vedder wanabee' or whatever, shit well that aint such a bad thing if you like them.. i dont think any music out there is 'bad', i can't stand some stuff, but i dont bitch about how i think good music should be, thats my opinion and i dont have to listen to it.. Elemenop in my opinion have the worst vocalist in nz, but your average teeny bopper might love them.. they just enjoy playing and good on them if they got successful doing it. less complaining and more jamming i say.

it's just about finding someone you trust and actually sees potential in what you do. we were lucky in that a sales chick mate of ours, whos now our manager, actually started selling and working for us before we even considered her as a manager.. she did it purely cause she liked our music and saw potential, as well as the fact she's doing it for herself as a hobby, so they key is your manager has to believe in you, which yeah can be hard to find

so any good bands you all know get signed or ya think should be??? i know a few indy bands that deserve a label or a bit more recognition that i'd rather talk about, redmore & runninghouse, 2 of my favorite local bands i've seen live, and mates of ours 'Like a storm' (they used to be called Fluid) have gone to Canada as they have label interest there and gona play a gig infront of some label people, good luck boys!!!!

Miscreant, a kickass up and coming rock band from Auckland are gona be feautred on Maori TV's music show 'Coast' this Thursday night from 9pm, we've got a live performance and an interview in store for yas all..
Miscreant are currently recording 2 singles with Malcolm Weslsford, followed by a video so lookout for us in the coming months..
If you wish to come along and make some noise on the set the studio is located at
9 - 15 Davis crescent on the corner of Carlton gore road in Newmarket.
