I'll be there dude ;-D
I'm surprised Nice Guy hasn't been in here today!?! Is he/are you sick or not at work??
I too had an awesome night. Die Die Die were good but brief. The Mint Chicks were almost as insane as their mosh pit! I got in some great crowd surfing!!
I spoke to Paul (MC Drummer) outside after the gig. He's a really nice guy and the hype has definately not gone to his head. Would like to hear more recordings where he plays drums on more than 1 (or was it 2?) tracks.
Mint Chicks Rock!
No Aiming, Just Shooting EP release at Valve Thurs night (19th Nov). Be there! or don't...
A 4 song EP for the price of an on peak pint ($5)...
ps. I'm pretty sure off peak drinking rates apply on Thurs...
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the "Jesus I was Evil' EP was recorded entirely on a 4 track!!
Which makes it all the more impressive that the song got radio airplay. An example of excellent music being appreciated despite the lack of production. Although his 4 tracking skills were good it is pretty unheard of to get a 4 track recording on air is it not??
Dude I said Bill Cosby not Bing Crosby!! You know the guy who used to do the voice for Fat Albert and had his own sit com called The Cosby Show. In the opening credits he did this really cool Mr Beanish type dance... Oh never mind... : P
My very first band Salvage, used to do a rock cover of California Dreaming by The Mama's and the Papa's.
I have enjoyed Po-Ha's covers of Moonlight Shadow and the theme to Knight Rider.
...and of course their Iron maiden covers that pop up from time to time ; ) especially The Trooper, Revelations, and Hallowed Be Thy Name.
Things are a little too quiet on the K1500 front for my liking : (
What's the story with the CD?
the master tracks from Justin/Brendan?
the DVD?
the Factory account?
the absence of Bill Cosby from our television screens?
Yes! Sept 11th at Bodega, the almighty K1500 Project will support the supremely superb Lollipop Parade.
Terrorists Beware!
Just to contradict my 1st Sept post, it looks as if we may be playing at Bodega next Thurs 11th with The Lollipop Parade. Will confirm when we do...
Cheers dude : ) Double kick is cool : )
I enjoyed your guys new stuff too, especially Electric and Inside, oh and that old one from your album.... um...what was it?...... oh yeah killjoy... fucken awesome!
Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but after playing 6 gigs in August we are now going to take a hiatus and head back to The Factory to write some new material. However, with the imminent release of our first EP 'No Aiming, Just Shooting', a collection of our finest fighting songs, it won't be long until we're back for a CD release party!
Well time to reflect : ) 6 gigs in one month! That's more than my last band would do in an entire year!! We have had the pleasure of playing with some wicked bands to boot. Shout outs to The Lollipop Parade, Acid Jack, Nemo, Idle Faction (who also have a recording in the pipeline), Rockface (from the Kapiti) and Po-Ha. Thanks to Brendan and Justin of The Blue Set for recording us!! Greg and Valve, Blair for making us sound better than we are ; ), our friends, and those of you who came to a gig!!
shhhh... secret Hutt gig soon ; )
I have been told that we are to be there 7pm. Is this right fullas?
Mesh
Meld
Shoelace Noose
Are ya gonna eat that?
Free Beer (would entice punters who see the poster but could end up very bad!)
Sonic Pony
The Meat Maids
Oh yeah, I'm starting a covers band called Ditto, anyone interested??
A friend of mine got bounced out of a nightclub in the Hutt last year. They broke his ankle when they threw him into the gutter. He was so drunk he didn't realise and limped around on it all night. He spent the next 2 days at home moaning about a sore ankle. When he finally went to the hospital the nurse laughed at him for walking around on a broken ankle for 2 days...
We were playing at The Cross last month and there was this one security guy, not violent or menacing in any way but just a general plonker. He ID'd a friend of mine when he came in, my friend walked over to us and then 2 minutes later the security guy was over and asking him for ID again!?!
Later that same night I was sitting with my (now ex)girlfriend who's 21 and her friend who's also about 21. The same security guy came over and asked us all for ID. I didn't have any (my wallet was stolen at the start of the year and I haven't replaced my license but I'm a young looking 27) so after checking the girls he asked me outside. When we got out he said that I wouldn't be allowed back in to which I replied that I was the drummer for the second band and walked straight back in. I just thought to myslef IDIOT!! I guess he was just doing his job but numerous people were asked more than once for ID and he spent all night running around talking into an ear/mouth piece... why does the airport need to know what a bouncer at the Cross is doing hahaha....he...hehe... nevermind.
... and the lighting can only be cool if the band is too, and you guys were! Welcome back!!
Yeah I remember seeing some wicked syncopation with the lighting and turning around to see who it was. Well done dude!! If you weren't in my band I'd ask you to do the lighting for us anytime!!
Yes very silly indeed...
