I need a good bass player for some Funk/Jazz stuff.
F Blues, Bb Blues, Minor Blues, Rhythm Changes, Walking Bass Lines, a good funk feel, a good ear, improvisational/soloing ability, and an intreset in playing this stuff (funk, *jazz*, latin, rock, fusion) is essential. Also, some level of sightreading is prefered, and a 5 string would help on some tunes.

Yeah, it certainly is a shame. It is proving hard to find drummers who are available and good enough to play this stuff.
I don' know any keyboard players in Wellington, but if you need a sax player, try this guy. alexnyman@paradise.net.nz He contacted me by mistake. He is in Wellington as well. If you can get a hold of Matapi (dums, bass) or Ben (bass) Turua, they might be able to help you out.
