Yep Hot Swiss were choice...thanks for having us. Fang still haven't gotten around to doing a T-Shirt yet so you guys are way ahead
Fang have a brand new album called SWIM UP STREAM and also a brand new website at http://www.fang.co.nzwhere you can watch a few videos and also listen to the album on low-fi streamed audio....the website was made by the talented Mr Hayden Sinclair
didn't you pre-fix your MC name with 'BIGGIE'?
Anyway, you should ring that guy at the MIC about your singer songwriting - apparently he's quite helpful on that topic.
ah...so YOU were the fourth FOURTH MEMBER...but then you sacked two of 'em and bought a dat tape, then you wanted some Modelz, but then you were alone in z end.
Peter just finished mastering the new Fang album yesterday and is getting started on a solo album. played a low key show in Chch on the weekend I believe...
...and tlack and jesetherese stop turning this wholesome fang forum into some kind of sordid pickup page
hey I'm sure Fang would be into playing with Hot Swiss Misstress at Happy..we need to make it down more than once a year I think.

A bit of Radio

A bit of Press
Below are some nice things we have heard that good people have been saying about our Arch Hill compilation 'The Hill is Alive'
Some Reviews for 'The Hill is Alive' Arch Hill Compilation No2.
"Way impressive is the consistency of the music across so many different artists. Arch Hill has found it's niche by digging out mostly dreamy, atmospheric oddball pop music and bringing it to a wider audience. It's not often that a label is able to define itself by one type of music these days" - Marty Duda: Real Groove
"further proof of this wee label's pedigree and more than reason enough to sit up and listen" - Anthony Smith: Staple Magazine
"Everything here is highly melodic and generally excellent"**** - Dan Morrow: Rip It Up
"The whole album sounds a worthwhile and cohesive affair" - Russell Baillie: NZ Herald
"The Hill Is Alive demands a listen from anyone interested in original,
clever pop from a range of great Kiwi artists. 8/10" James Dann - The Critic
...there are more - but we don't seem have them on hand right now!

Fang/Black Drum/Gasoline Cowboy - Paradise Bar - this Saturday 14th June
This Saturday the 14th of June at the Paradise bar in Auckland you can catch Fang, Black Drum and Gasoline Cowboy from 10pm. Just $6 on the door. The Paradise bar is located upstairs in St Kevins Arcade on K-Rd. To give you a little background - Black Drum is the new band fronted by Garageland main-man Jeremy Eade, backed up by new contenders Ian and Adam on drums/bass. After some months rehearsing in a Stewart Island garage they have decided to front up in Auckland city. Gasoline Cowboy have just recorded two outstanding tracks for the upcoming Arch Hill Compilation - called The Hill is Alive. The track 'I Hear You Call My Name' has been getting a good old thrashing all over the NZ on b-net radio, including the number one spot on Wellington's Radio Active top ten.
Out in the World
Further afield, as previously reported, Christchurch kids Pine will be hitting the big stage in New York's Central Park on July 13th. If you live in New York or London look out for other probable dates (TBC) in those parts of the planet.
In the Future
And further in the future, look out for two of Wellington's finest bent pop posse heading to Auckland to play at the Kings Arms - that will be Ghostplane (formerly Dana Eclair), Phoenix Foundation, along with Fang on Sat July 19th. Both of these Arch Hill favorites have recently completed their debut albums...the Phoenix Foundation's will be out on Wellington's Capital Recordings sometime soon.
Luv from Arch Hill.
Dear 'Hillsters,
First the behind the scenes action. The basements of Arch Hill Studio have been alive with new recordings and ruckus. Some of the regulars (Pine, Fang, David Mulcahy) have been battling it out with newbies such as Christchurch expats Gasoline Cowboy (Jol with Greg from Fuce with Scott from Slim/Fuce) and the semi-regulars...such as the as yet unnamed Kelly and Greta project (featuring call-in instrumentalists Gary Sullivan/Shayne Carter from Dimmer facing off against Sonya Waters/Ben Howe from Fang) plus a heap of other stuff. Ed Case - Arch Hill Studio Chief - says our compilation project is projected for completion by July 2025. That will give Aaron from Pine ample time to meditate on the artwork. Also, our marketing and promotions 'teams' will have plenty of time to strategise, mind-map and flowchart...
In other news, for NZ locals, if you didn't see Fang playing pre-recorded/live on Squeeze last Sunday - you get a second chance this Wednesday at 11.30pm TV2.
If you live in Auckland make sure you head along to the Independent Music New Zealand (IMNZ) and bFM gig at the Kings Arms on Friday May the 9th. The kick butt lineup includes Fang, SJD, Stinky Jim, Meterman, Dub Asylum, One Million Dollars and Autozamm. Get there early (9pm) for the full smorgasbord. IMNZ represents NZ owned independent recording labels and distributors. There will also be giveaways of a double IMNZ sampler CD with heaps of excellent NZ independent stuff on it, including our own Pine and Fang.
Other gigs: Later on in the month look out for...
Pine at True Colours on the May 23rd in Christchurch and May 31st in Auckland
Pine and Chris Knox in-store at Real Groovy on May 30th 6.30pm
A low key set from Pine and Fang at the Auckland City Art Gallery on May 31st 2pm.
...but we'll remind you about those ones.
Finally, Arch Hill and Fang would like to BIG UP Wellington music. Firstly, large numbers of people like to go out and see (and enjoy) live music, and secondly, the music is excellent. If there is any justice in the world leftfield pop ramblers The Phoenix Foundation and Ghostplane (both of whom Fang played with) will soon be getting the recognition they deserve.
