chch also has the Southern Blues Bar Band Comp and the University Battle of the Bands.
I think Celia's living back in Dunedin these days? I saw here at Ghost Clubs' show at Arc, and she also heckled my old band Palace of Wisdom at a show here in Chch last year...
...managed to miss the first half...
anyway, lindo's got the DVD and soundtrack available on his website - plus there are MP3s of the to be released second album, and best of all some unreleased Puffins tracks. Man i hope that album eventually comes out - i dropped in to Rotherham when they were recording part of it in the old Ex-Hospital

i reckon ive got the chops to win this thing - i've even done karaoke with a bunch of gay guys in los angeles...
by luck, theres an AA show on at the shed (334 Manchester St):
black market art, the insurgents, starlett, my little go box [$5]
...usually there's only a couple aa-shows a month, but they're certainly picking up steam,
shades of spinal tap supporting the puppet show...
FREEFORM JAZZ ODYSSEY!
i was thinking nambassa - but i think there actually was a 'Ngaurawahia' festival itself, some time around 71-73?
// 6. Name the 1970 hit by The Fourmyla named after a Horowhenua town?
// 7. Which NZ song plagiarised a children's book by Margaret Mahy?
im guessing they watched give us a whirl the other night
i wanna be a camp councillor in the wet hot american summer tradition...
also - relying on the bar to pay bands means that your enforcing drinking culture. don't you think it would be better for gig-goers to be their primarily for the MUSIC, not the BOOZE?
so you'd rather that bands LOSE MONEY when putting on a show? the dux is a rare exception in NZ venues, and many (such as myself) feel their free gig policy is a bad thing
there's been TONS of double compilations, including artist rarities / early comps
ive got records of 3 double albums - all from recent experimental/underground outfits:
teen x-rays - joys of pig hunting
cja - the tank
witcyst - they rest not
of course its a bit harder to track these days, as a double album is essential an album over 45minutes (with the difference between CDs and records and all). i wouldn't be suprised if there wasn't a double album from the likes of 70s prog or psych bands like ticket, ragnorak etc...
aside from over a decade in the game, the chch dialtones released an album a while back on all plastic records
mysterioball's split was a happy one... i managed to catch a couple shows from my guitarists new band a couple years ago and he played a few of our songs, a couple of which i wrote - i thought it was rad...
speaking of which - did anyone catch the article in the press on saturday about thomas hendry - the dude who stapled his cock to a cross back in 1999 and recently got in to the record books for the trick (i'm not sure _why_)? dude was our saxaphonist
what style of punk? y'know shaky hands (ex nova echo) are touring south soon...
quality opposition? lets look at this seasons charlton vs. chelsea results:
Chelsea - Charlton Athletic 2 : 0 [Prem]
Chelsea - Charlton Athletic 4 : 5 (1 : 1) - [Carling]
Charlton Athletic - Chelsea 1 : 1 [Prem]
if chelsea underestimate charlton THAT MUCH they wouldn't deserve to be the best team in the league. The fact is that Charlton have held their own this year against the boys in blue this year - something Arsenal, Everton, Tottenham, and Liverpool haven't been able to do...
most likely the adapter ($60-150), but could be just the cord (which are real cheap) or even the power connector on the laptop (real expensive, if you have to say replace the motherboard). What brand/model of laptop is it? is it still under waranty?
