most likely the adapter ($60-150), but could be just the cord (which are real cheap) or even the power connector on the laptop (real expensive, if you have to say replace the motherboard). What brand/model of laptop is it? is it still under waranty?

also - relying on the bar to pay bands means that your enforcing drinking culture. don't you think it would be better for gig-goers to be their primarily for the MUSIC, not the BOOZE?

so you'd rather that bands LOSE MONEY when putting on a show? the dux is a rare exception in NZ venues, and many (such as myself) feel their free gig policy is a bad thing

there's been TONS of double compilations, including artist rarities / early comps

http://thebigcity.co.nz ]

fraew : 2 April 2006 - 9:08pm

ive got records of 3 double albums - all from recent experimental/underground outfits:
teen x-rays - joys of pig hunting
cja - the tank
witcyst - they rest not

of course its a bit harder to track these days, as a double album is essential an album over 45minutes (with the difference between CDs and records and all). i wouldn't be suprised if there wasn't a double album from the likes of 70s prog or psych bands like ticket, ragnorak etc...

mysterioball's split was a happy one... i managed to catch a couple shows from my guitarists new band a couple years ago and he played a few of our songs, a couple of which i wrote - i thought it was rad...
speaking of which - did anyone catch the article in the press on saturday about thomas hendry - the dude who stapled his cock to a cross back in 1999 and recently got in to the record books for the trick (i'm not sure _why_)? dude was our saxaphonist

quality opposition? lets look at this seasons charlton vs. chelsea results:

Chelsea - Charlton Athletic 2 : 0 [Prem]
Chelsea - Charlton Athletic 4 : 5 (1 : 1) - [Carling]
Charlton Athletic - Chelsea 1 : 1 [Prem]

if chelsea underestimate charlton THAT MUCH they wouldn't deserve to be the best team in the league. The fact is that Charlton have held their own this year against the boys in blue this year - something Arsenal, Everton, Tottenham, and Liverpool haven't been able to do...
