Thanks to everyone for giving Mai Lee a wonderful send off. We all had a fab gig. It was Bitter sweet but Beautiful. Thanks Pike for support you guys are great. And thanks to everyone that came and packed out the dux. You all made the night a special one.

The Deal.
The Dux gig on Friday the 13th of June will be Mai Lee's (Jem N' Em's) LAST GIG with the Cooltones. She's off to Wellington and were wishing her all the best we love her immeasurably and will miss her heaps.
So it'll be the last Cooltones gig in a while. Were busy recording and should be done by Sept. But we'll just see how it all pans out.

I reckon music is something that has ALOT to do with perference.
And just cos' you personally don't like it does'nt mean it SUX. It means that your making a call not based on fact, but taste and perference.
I'm a fella that likes music. And in a big world with alot of music there is a alot a don't like. But that's a preference call. It does'nt mean the quality of the music is bad.
Like I don't like country music, so since I don't like it I'm the last person in the world that should review a country music record.
And theres heaps of bands out there (In NZ). That you'll never hear of because of preference issues. Many labels and record companies want a safe band that does'nt challenge it's audience, reguardless of it's quality, so it's a preference call again.
If you have fine tastes (Whatever that means). You're gonna have to dig deeper to find out what YOU personally enjoy. But that's just the way it goes. A person that hates most food eats less. Which is a good thing, because then unique and rare tastes may not get as overlooked. And these rare odd bands usually have the most committed fans.
Enjoyment is'nt a law or judgement. It's just supposed to be fun.

Y'all Cheers to the posse the came to see us at the Dux with Kicking stones on the rainy Valentines evening.
And sorry to all the peps that came to see us at the Peace Picnic. There was a meditation group at the town hall. And a guy fron the city councel complained about the noise. And our crazy ass funkiness would of been too loud. But nevermind it was nice to be there.

So we may play your namesake then if it's ready. It's something were humming and harring at the moment. Me and J get drunk and go cruzin into town. We start singing really bad songs about whats happening around us. (That's usally is an underlying metaphor for whats happening in lives anyway) And anything that we are still humming a week later usally turns into a song.
