Gomorrah- It's hard for me to describe their sound, the best thing I can come up with is "clever metal". The drummer is fucking amazing, the guitarist shreds up, vocalist has one the best screams ever, and it's glued together by synthy noisy awesomeness. Definitely worth checking out if you're a bogan with a brain, or just a little bit curious...
Cherry's Gemstones- Interesting songs, crazy guitars & rock n roll antics, hot girls with pretty voices. There aren't too many gems around like cherry
So so modern- there's enough hype around to sink a battleship, but no one round here does it quite the way they do
Alabaster Theatre- Who the fuck in wellington plays pop'd up pink floyd style prog rock and manages to pull it off with humour and panache? Two words- Alabaster Theatre.
Tommy Ill- Best wellington rapper out that I've seen of late
Carousel- I don't know if these guys are still around, but they play awesome classical/gypsy style music, with cutesy creative lyrics.
Goodbye Galaxy- We like Merzbow? yes. We like Atari Teenage Riot? yes. We like Big Black? oui. Then we're definitely down with this shit...

Hopefully this means that Don Brash's marketing managers will create some phat beats, and Don Brash will do some raps. That'd be cool...

I hear from a little bird that the one and only Grusome is playing his first show tonight at Happy...! A squirrel also informed me that he's playing with some other super bands- Libra Accord & Bonanza.
Might be an idea to rock along to Happy at 9pm...It'll be a little bit cool, I think...

Sheesh, I've barely seen a poster about this round town, thought it might be worth making a post about it. It's true folks, Trans Am are back again, playing with Kahu and some other band....
I think its on June 16 at Indigo, tickets $20 +bf. How exciting!

Cool, I need a male rapper too, with a real seedy deep voice...gotta get the man rap on for the early 90s dance s band I intend to start up at some stage...

daisygina : 26 February 2006 - 3:29pm

They seem to change quite a lot...but at the moment its the lunch special they do at Kazu restaurant in Wellington, that is the best deep fried tofu I have tasted in my life...and the sushi is amazing. yummm
My least favourite meal is one which has sneaky meat in it, i.e. it looks vegetarian, you take a bite and get a mouthful of bacon bits. Ew.

daisygina : 26 February 2006 - 3:24pm

Me too! I got all excited when I read the title of the thread...

daisygina : 16 February 2006 - 8:50am

Cool, nice work tane

daisygina : 16 February 2006 - 8:48am

So, why no posters in Wellington?? Not everyone hangs out on the internet all day...

daisygina : 15 January 2006 - 7:34pm

For some reason I always get a weird and somewhat unpleasant vibe whilst in christchurch

daisygina : 15 January 2006 - 7:27pm

Cool, I'm there

daisygina : 9 January 2006 - 10:03pm

Sweet sounds cool

daisygina : 4 January 2006 - 6:09pm

daisygina : 3 January 2006 - 2:23pm

What's JD Comp Band?

daisygina : 3 January 2006 - 2:00pm

In the morning there's hardly anything I wanna see, then in the afternoon everything clashes madly. :(

daisygina : 31 December 2005 - 9:03pm

Man, that's fuckin killah! I hope they play Wellington

daisygina : 24 December 2005 - 12:11pm

Well apparently Auckland and Vic were sweet with Trans Am, but then the ones in the South Island weren't. Something about getting 8 people at a Dei Hamo gig they paid thousands for.
Personally I don't see how it relates, but I guess they're worried about making losses.
Orientation is looking pretty fucking lame right now.

daisygina : 12 December 2005 - 6:51pm

Wow, that's awesome. Good stuff! Support this Auckland kids!
I'd love to do something similar in Wellington.

daisygina : 20 November 2005 - 9:40pm

Gosh, lucky! Where was that?
Also Ex-Models and Blonde Redhead I'm particuarly enjoying at the moment

daisygina : 13 November 2005 - 12:48am

Totally obsessed with Erase Errata right now. I'm too lazy to explain who they are. But they are really cool...
