Ages probably 20 something, younger is okay but maturity and experience would help and yes i'm in hamilton. You?
Hi there, am 20 something bassist with two years live experience and wanting to hook up with vocalist, drummer or guitarist to start forming band. Willing to work with any one in upper north island.
The intention is to gig once a week (more in summer, less in winter) doing covers which will pay for music gear and in between times write originals which is the main focus.
My personal musical tastes are rock i.e. incubus, pearl jam, rhcp, tool, pumpkins, soungarden etc. etc. etc.
I am very ambitious and therefore seek like minded individuals not afraid to take on the world.
If you are interested please e-mail governsound@hotmail.com or phone (021) 1834267.
If you are reading this and it is not you, but you may know some one who can help the cause, please forward my details.
You may be in a band looking for a bassist then give me a call. You just don't know if you don't try???!!!
the vines suck. period. if you like the vines i want to punch you in the belly button for supporting shit music
yeah but they need a departure from what other bands are doing, and quite honestly, good on them but they are nothing new and no where near as good a song writers as the people they are imitating, and to be really cliche, "it's about the songs", its about being original. Any one who says where are your songs or i don't see you doing it can eat my shorts. There are better bands in most local pubs every weekend playing covers that would show blindspot up. Any way if you want to like them then feel free. If any one calls me a n.z. music hater then f**k you too cause i am a kiwi and i play and enjoy many other bands. soooo.... my original point is...... bs are not inspiring. Thanks for coming.
Thank you Saul, you are right, no disrespect to the band as persons or musicians. I think that most people who post comments of support for bs are about 14 or 15, bs's target audience. Once you get a little bit more mature you start to realise how standard they are. I hope for their sake they sell some units. I for one wouldn't pay for it.
Nah bro, the dude just wasn't warmed up. Is that professional? He screams like a mo'fo so when he tried to start singing he couldn't get started. Why anyone would want to sing like that has got me. Looks painful.
oh yay, yay, another angry young band with issues. Just what the world needs.
Pearl Jam do alot of covers, some good some bad, two faves of mine are Redemption song by Bob and Little wing by Jimi (did Jimi write this? I have a feeling he didn't). Not fussed about last kiss though.
Just cause the single sold out in one shop that probably had 20 copies doesn't mean alot. If it made it to the top 10, thats okay, top 3 YAY, where did it get???
There is a fair bit of distance between being known and convincing someone to spend $30 on an album. If they are going to last then they need to sell albums, and then tour to back it up. All that is coming, but to have a slot on B.D.O main stage even though it was very early and then wait nearly a year to complete an album. Think how much better they would be if they had the package all together when they put themselves out there.
sounds like complete shit to me, someone's trying to make some money
Baker street rocks, love that song, but what i think is that the cover should be a departure. Say, i think mama said doing che & dlt's chains is not a big enough departure.
Well, if they are all that, then i guess they'll be around in 5 years, HOWEVER, i doubt it
P.s. a good song is a good song, doesn't matter a shit where you come from. Lets focus on that cause god knows it's what we need more of. And that my friends IS a challenge.
Hell yeah, the dats are a good live band, but they are a choreographed garage band. Been doing the same shit for years and years and now they are scratching their heads and going what happened all of a sudden. Someone just got it.
goody for us. What are you up to music wise? What you wanna do??etc.etc.
Me, i'm looking for commited people that want to do music pretty much full time. What hamilton bands do you recommend? Wanna jam??
