For Fucks Sake, i didnt post this forum to debate whether The Checks sound like The Cramps otherwise i would have called it 'do the checks sound like the cramps?' So if you havent got anything apart form "ohh the sound like the cramps" then piss off. If everyone ran around saying you sound like that band, and they sound like this band then noone would play music in fear of sounding like another band. So get over it and just appreciate The Checks for what they are. Music.

wee_willy : 26 August 2003 - 2:50pm

Anyone heard of The Checks? they took out the north shore rockquest. If you havent heard of them now, you will soon.

wee_willy : 30 July 2003 - 12:09pm

Check out "The Transplants" its got Travis from blink 182, and the singer from Rancid. Much more serious and no more poo jokes!

wee_willy : 29 July 2003 - 11:31pm

The title speaks for itself.

wee_willy : 29 July 2003 - 11:30pm

What the fuck are you on about mate? Sounds like u need to go back to Canada.

wee_willy : 29 July 2003 - 11:27pm

Yeah but theve got such a large fan base now, most people that do buy the album will proberbly only buy it because it was made by "blink 182"

wee_willy : 29 July 2003 - 2:59pm

You cant have a female punk singer! dude

wee_willy : 29 July 2003 - 12:06am

Oops just realised that this is NEW ZEALAND MUSIC forum. Sorry dudes.

wee_willy : 29 July 2003 - 12:03am

Anyone looking forward to Blinks new album? Or do u think they are past it?

wee_willy : 27 July 2003 - 3:56pm

Awsome, Sola Rosa are in a league of there own i recon. Also it puzzles me why more people havent heard of them? oh well they will soon enough.

wee_willy : 26 July 2003 - 2:58am

There is a certain mentality that i think young adults in new zealand have and im one of them. I often find myself justifing my 'burning' of oversea's artists (not that i actually do it - of course), by thinking "oh well, they are rich anyway, a few bucks wouldnt hurt". Yet when it comes to NZ artist, most people know that they dont make the 'big bucks' and therefore go out and actually BUY the cd. But here is my main point, what difference is there between oversea's artists and New Zealand artist? Is it an issue of Morality? or is it an issue of legality?

wee_willy : 26 July 2003 - 2:29am

hey man, i got my boss pedal from cash converters for $150. Its got 24 preset effects and each one is totally customisable. Theres another one just like it at the birkenhead cash converters. and you can try it before you buy it.

Ok, i went to a shortland street audition the other day, and happened to catch a glimpse of paul reid, and his head is HUGE!! maybe it was just the hair, but wow! Rubicon are a little bit 2 pop for my taste but they still make cool enough music. Cheers
