ok this all makes sense. a band member from 8 ft sativa is trying to educate us all on hooks and songwriting and from his emphasis on drums, could Satan be Sam, the drummer, I wonder?!
all i'll say is that you stick to playing your grooves and let the rest of your band do the hook and songwriting, of what there is anyway!
i hardly think anything from 8 foot sativa could be considered a songwriting masterpiece, you should learn about tempos and how to differ them instead of having nearly a whole album at the same 'stomp' tempo. you could mix and match the songs and people wouldn't know any different.
BTW i think that Patrick Stott reviewer should be institutionalised because any comparisons to Pantera and Slipknot is ludicrous, he obviously was on crack when he did that review!
