Alright guys and girls, here's a chance to get your hands on a rare, maybe one of a kind amp - a 24y.o Jansen Invader Series GMF 100 Mos-Fet powered combo amp.
The specs are:
*1x12 speaker is excellent condition
*150W 4ohm
*A&B inputs
*A input: Gain/Bass/Mids/Treble
*B input: Gain/Overdrive/Bass/LoMid/HiMid/Treble
*Reverb
*Input switch and footswitch port.
*Effects and line out loops
It's a little bit heavy so it's been fitted with castors to roll places and treat the speaker nice rather than thunking it around all over the place. The entire amp is in really good condition - no rusting etc. One dial cap is missing which doesn't affect playability, sound, or ease of use.
This is a really good amp for most styles of playing, the built in overdrive and reverb mean a) you can get away with less or no pedals, and b) you can get a wide range of tones easily and quickly.
Give a well loved and well cared for amp a good home. $450. email mynameisfreed@hotmail.com

You teach metal the same way you teach any style... you help the person learn and apply the techniques. Maybe you have a limited exposure to metal - it's not all EEEEEE etc (or DDDDD if you have a 5 string). There are many intelligent metal bands with bass lines that take skill and dedication to learn. I take it you've heard of Tool?
And anyway, being able to play E for long periods of time, while still making it groove (yes, metal also has groove *gasp*) and making it sound cool is not an easy thing either.
In about 4 weeks I'm going to have some slots open for people wanting bass lessons. I can teach all styles from jazz to metal, and have an FCert in Jazz bass. I provide practise space, amplification, music etc.
If you're interested, please email mynameisfreed@hotmail.com
Cheers!
"No i asked if you were a homophobe and you didn't answer so i gathered that you were like the rest... "
... and you assumed I am homophobic. the reason I didn't answer was because I want to find other Christian musicians, not discuss gay rights.
But for the record, because it seems so important to you, I am not homophobic.
I'll read through the thread again, but I don't appear to have given you any s***. You appear to be giving it out, though.
That's okay. I try to treat people in my life the way I've treated people in this thread, and I try to conduct myself in the same way. So if you find the way I've interacted with the people in this thread insulting, then I guess I am giving people s*** and I apologise. But I think I've treated everyone fairly, honestly, and with respect.
Cheers guys.
"If there is a god he/she wouldn't have created christians thats for sure, bunch of homophobes I can't stand christianity and its hypocrisy."
You don't like Christians I am assuming then, because of there hypocrisy and intolerance. Isn't assuming that because I'm a Christian I must be homophobic just as intolerant, and therefore hypocritical?
Oh well. Sorry to any people who were interested in this topic for the actual reason I started it - if there is anyone who's interested in jamming or something like that then just drop me a line at my email address, it's a bit less controversial :-p
Cheers guys
As I said, I don't want to turn this into a religious debate - that's not why I started this thread. But crowbar, as this is not a religious debate, I would appreciate it if you didn't post comments such as your one on the Bible (there is actually proof that the Bible is truw, and I can give you the information if you'd like, but it's innapropriate to post it here). The reason I ask this is that it is the type of comment that's going to start fights. I do disagree with you, and I have a suspicion you may be saying what you are saying to goad me into an argument. I didn't bring up any issues of homosexuality etc, and issues such as these don't have anything to do with starting a band.
I don't want to dicuss religious issues here. I just want to contact other musicians who are like minded as me.
Cheers guys
Of course I can only speak for myself, but I don't wake up in the morning thinking 'how can I make non Christians unhappy today?'. I am a Christian, and not ashamed of it, so I'm not going to hide it. I'm not trying to make anyone unhappy, and I don't 'bible bash'. If people get offended or are unhappy by sheer virtue of the fact that I am a Christian, then there's not much I can do about that.
The way we know that God is a He is because the Bible is the authorative, inspired words of God spoken through man, and the Bible says that God is a He. We also know that Jesus was/is God incarnate on Earth, and as Jesus was/is a man it makes sense that God is also a man. In Genesis we see that 'God created man in His Image', and he later created woman from man, so we can assume that beause it was the male first created in His image than He must be a man.
I hope this answers your questions - but I'm not sure if this is really appropriate for an online music forum. Like I said, I don't want to create any conflict. If you guys still have questions, you're welcome to email me.
Cheers guys
No worries, I'll always answer questions about this kind of thing, and I'm not trying to preach, just answer your question, so no offense intended to anyone who might disagree...
It's like any other kind of band you're putting together - if you want to have a metal band you find people who like metal, punk you find punkers etc. I reckon God's awesome. I've gota cool relationship with Jesus Christ, and it's a big part of my life. Most musicians write songs about the things going on in their lives and the things that influence them, whether it's happy or sad stuff. As jesus is a big influence, and He makes me happy, I want to play happy music with a God focus. I've played in christian and non christian bands before, and I find the best atmosphere for making 'spiritual' music is with other christians. Like-minded people, you know?
Cheers guys
After spending the last few years in Welly I've decided to return to my hometown of Auckland (around Nov or Dec of this year) and one of my goals upon my return is to start a great Christian band (do you like how I slipped 'upon' in there? very posh.). I'm thinking of an eclectic band based in a pop punk/ska sound but who aren't afraid to play with other genres - just cause they sound cool! Think reliant K, Ace Troubleshooter, Five Iron Frenzy mixed in with some Thousand Foot Krutch, Blindside, Soda etc.
I'm a bassist and vocalist (mostly backing, occasional lead), and I have permanent and free access to great practise and recording space in Auckland, based in the North Shore. I am looking (obviously) for a couple of guitarists, main vocalist and a drummer (if you can do more than one of these things then that's great), but anyone who thinks they've got something to add is welcome to contact me!
I'm looking for musos who've got good playing, song writing, and gigging skills, but who like having fun, just enjoy music, and also a passion for God and a desire to write upbeat music with a Christian focus.
If you're keen or you know someone who might be, drop me a line at mynameisfreed@hotmail.com. Cheers guys!
Late. Very tired. Forgot to add my email address. mynameisfreed@hotmail.com
As a side note, I'm good friends with the previous owners so I can vouch for the amps' past treatment :-p
Hey guys,
due to an unfortunate severe lack of funds I'm having to sell my Jansen amp. Specs are as follows:
- 100W
- 12" Speaker
- 2 Channels (One clean, one with distortion/overdrive, with a switch between the two and a jack to plug in a footswitch)
- Onboard 3 band EQ
- Effects/line out etc. in back.
It's 25 years old and been well looked after. It's on castors for easy wheeling around (but won't roll off the stage mid-gig!)
It's in Wellington, if you want to arrange a time to check it out.
Bought a couple of years ago for $800, selling now for $550 ono.
chuck me an email if you're interested or you've got any questions.
Cheers guys
That sucks man - you should ring around the local Cash Converters - people often flog ripped off stuff to those shops.
Hey, I'm after a bass cabinet to add on to my current rig which consists of a Warwick profet IV head and a 4x10 cab. I want to add on a 1x15 or a 2x12. Looking for good quality gear at a reasonable price but I'll consider anything. Shoot me an email at mynameisfreed@hotmail.com or reply here if you're interested.
Cheers!
I have a warwick corvette 4 string in good condition with the passive pickups upgraded to EMC active JJs. Throw me an email at mynameisfreed@hotmail.com if you're interested.
Cheers

I decided to change my sound to active and now have two Passive MEC Dynamic Correction J-Bass pickups for sale. These are the pickups Warwick uses in their basses to get that famous 'growl'. They're in great condition. They have a punchy midrange and great lows and highs. Good for most styles of playing through the jazz and rock genres. They come with 4 mounting screws.
I am selling these pickups for $100 neg. I can include a wired pot system (volume/tone/blend) for another $15.
I'm updating/upgrading my bass and am looking for some reasonably priced (not $450 that certain unnamed retail outlets charge) J-style active pickups for my bass. New or used - as long as they're in good condition I don't mind what kind of bass they got pulled out of ;). Drop me a line at mynameisfreed@hotmail.com. Cheers
I've tried that before, ringing up and requesting, getting okayed before the flight, then showing up and getting rejected and having to put it in the cargo hold. I've been lucky, but I don't want to chance it again.
Hey, I'm heading up to Auckland for some gigs in the holidays (leaving 9th Nov) and I need a hardcase to take my Warwick Corvette Proline on the plane without getting smashed (we all know how those cargo packers treat music gear... the more expensive it is, the more effort they put into thrashing it). I have the standard Warwick gig bag at the moment - a great bag but just not enough protection for the cargo hold. I'm looking for a 2nd hand good cnd. case that will fit my bass - I can pay cash, trade my own gig bag, or a mix of both.
Send me an email at mynameisfreed@hotmail.com if you think you can help me out.
Cheers.
Sorry - as for where in welli, in the main city or in the close suburbs like Karori would be best.
Hey guys, I have a couple of slots open for lessons this year. I'm a gigging musician and studying jazz at university. I play and teach many styles of bass from rock to reggae to jazz. I try to teach people to be musicians rather than just teaching technique, so lessons include some theory, listening, and figuring out how music works and the role of the bass.
If you're a beginning bassist or looking to expand your musicianship, drop me a line at mynameisfreed@hotmail.com.
