hey if you want to play on thursday nights the owner of my bar has given me the joyful task of putting on weekly gigs

*good things*

x. we will do the promotion and print posters etc (you distro them)
x. he is offering a bar tab to the band
x. you can keep whatever you take on the door entirely to yourself
x. he doesnt give a shit whether it's sunday school choir or death metal
x. it's a very very secure venue, and if you need to keep your shite locked in there overnight to get someone to pick it up the next day or whatever you can.

*bad things*

x. we have a "p.a" but it's not that shit hot, sounds okay though its only a small venue so its pretty good considering
.x. you won't get paid by us. BUT BUT you do get a bartab and get to keep what you take on the door in its entirety.
x. we don't have a mic stand, but there are two mics.

the venue is not huge. in the room the bands will be playing in you can quite comfortably fit 80 people, you could get more... but it would start to get squishy, but you know its thursday night so its not going to be hugely packed.
i dont know anything about soundfuckering, so if you don't either you might want to get one of your mates who does to come in and soundcheck with you.

anyway.. if you're interested email me at sacarna @ e3 dot net dot nz
please email me! i won't reply quickly to pms on here because i dont check it often, whereas i check my email frequently.
i can take you in there and show you around and shit to see if you're keen

i will tell you where it is etc when you email me
it is central!!

please email me rather than asking questions on here!

thanks :>

mmm. that ad completely sucked me in, i hate telescum but i thought it was cool that there were so many nz bands in the ad. i also thought it was cool as koe said that it didnt actually say who any of them were so you had to know anyway.
unfortunately in nz you cant be a musician and a musician only if you want enough bling to live.
right up until fur patrol left julia deans was still working at street in wellington. retail for gods sake, earning what can only be fuck all.
what os are you using ollie? microsoft? :D
telecom suck shit and they definitely suck satans greasy corporate cock on a day to day basis but i have no beef with any of the musicans for wanting to make money aswell as do what they love.
especially if they put that money towards doing more shit with music. wicked.

sacarna : 30 March 2003 - 4:50am

oo oo, mestar at the temple aswell. very cool.

sacarna : 30 March 2003 - 4:48am

the best gigs i went to in 2002...
i cant remember dates because 2002 is just one big blur.
im only listing nz music.
anyway! :D
hdu at bodega were mindblowingly awesome.
the darkness gathering at indigo, avotor + n.u.t.e in particular were awesome
saliva twist at valve numerous times
operation infinite justice at indigo, where the carnys kicked ass as usual.
get set go in auckland was good.
dub city at indigo, mike fabulous kicked my ass. rhombus were sweet aswell but no way near as good as mike fabulous.
yeah. they were the best.

ugh.
yes. i'm so glad they've broken up. now maybe all the 15 year old rIoTgRrls will go on the quest to find talented musicians to listen to, rather than contrived whiney shite.
