I saw Mary Staple play at The Big Day Out a few years back and they absolutely RAWKED!! These guys need to be heard. When will NZ figure out that this is the future of NZ music. They can actually play their instruments and not piss around like a lot of the poppy crap NZ insists on accepting as talent!! If you want to know what I'm talking about listen to Mary Staple, Pharmacy, Nose Bleed, Subtract.....The future of NZ music!
Shihad....You have a lot of fans in London! when are you gonna tour here?
Paul McLaney is the type of talent you only stumble across a few times in your life. Any that have been touched by Jeff Buckley will know what I mean. I have had the privilege of performing and working with Paul so I have felt this magic first hand. I say felt because his music is not just to be heard but rather to be immersed in. You will only know the exactly what I'm talking about if you see him live. Those of you who remember his solo Temple days will know exactly what I'm talking about. Power is probably the best word to describe those performances. You owe it to yourself to get to know his music. You will never turn back from it.
PHARMACY - They are an Auckland band with, in my opinion, the best up and coming musician NZ has to offer. I'm serious, if you want an excellent mix of Chris Cornell, Janes Addiction, Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Buckley intertwined into a NZ sound, this is the band. The play all originals and as I know are not gigging yet. When they do, do not miss them if you appreciate good technical music. If you want to get hold of them for gigs, email Grant Cumming on grant@act.co.nz
What about a UK tour?
