Oh right, along with the low levels of LSD in the drinking fountains to aid brainwashing techniques employed by biology teachers and the addictive substance in KFC which kicks in every fortnight. kids are into music, kids buy music, kids buy what they're exposed to. What's wrong with exposing them to some NZ stuff instead of teaching them the latest moves to britney?
So they got paid? So what? What's with this attitude that unless your eating dogfood with a pick and blowing truckies for transport between gigs, your not keeping it real?
fucks sake we should be pleased that these bands are being paid to mentor young bands outside of the major centres. It's an excellent idea. Helps those bands carry on making their music and the young bands get inside knowledge from someone other then the jaded music teacher.
Andoru you guys won the rockquest didn't you. That grand could be coming your way next if you decide to share a little of your experience with some newbies. how is that bad?
nu-indie thats like saying "alt adult contempory" completely opposite ends of the spectrum. grunge has always been the absolute worst though. where did that one originate from?
Not planning on a lifetime membership in the DMC are you Andoru?
There's still hope man!
1. elemenop: ditto - one song and it's not that good and golden horse they don't fit the lineup
2. of course it is: look at the success of the General Electric tour. SHIHAD not playing Wellington is a crime.
3. well duh! pacifier of course: no one should be playing at the same time. they should just have a big movie screen and broadcast the pacifier slot into the other venues.
and maybe, just maybe, you'll actually give us something, like spotting a great band we haven't heard, or describing something in such a way that it inspires us to go back and have another listen. those boring 14 year olds might even give it a go and expand their tastes a little too.
//And there are many who do it.
for christ sakes then name them! share a little, let us know just who you and what your tastes are so that we may understand your need to constantly roam this site harrasing "all the boring fans"
it means something to all the bands out there reading this be they rubicon or the kids in the music room at lunchtime. i'd value your opinion a whole lot more if i knew what bands you do like and why. like i said it's real easy to bitch and moan but what does it communicate? seems to me a bunch of people on this site are professional cynics and not much more. nice point jimi.
i hate people that have nothing better to do then spout on and on about who they hate, howmuch they hate them and why everybody else should hate them too. what a destructive topic. what a bunch of pussys to come online behind your nice safe icons and take a swipe at bands who are out there creating something for us all. and what are we doing? sitting on forums, slagging them off and giving ourselves props for being such intelligent music critics cos we can spout about hatred.
what takes real balls is to tell everyone how much your love something and open yourself up to the wrath of the hater dictators out there
well i fucken love the stereo bus. i think they made some of the best music this country has ever produced. they were a rare and beautiful but fleeting thing. i treasure their first album
and i thank the feelers for making supersystem when they did. i loved it at the time and i think that album had a lot to do with the music industry starting to take nz music a little more seriously
and i love david kilgours new album a feather in the engine. it's a stunning solo effort and deserves a lot more recognition than its received so far. i'm stoked i stumbled across it
soundgarden rule /m/ and id rate chris cornell as one of the best vocalists ive ever heard live
superette
the screaming meemees
ween
solid gold hell
hell is other people
bressa creeting cake
the datsuns
motorace
lucious jackson
and i always thought nirvana really sucked as a name
who gives a shit! why don't you guys stop cluttering up my screen with this selfindulgent bullshit and carry on your flirting in the bar
its perfect really, a name they had long ago that is also a quiet pisstake at the whole situation theyve landed in.
Sorry to interrupt but I think funkymonkey answered your questions about 4 posts to yourself ago.
We don't take kindly to forum hogs around here.
funkymonkey could you possibly stop being such a chronic bitch for just 5 minutes? i think the point jenni is getting at, is that unless your favorite bands are compatible with the tastes of certain members here, your likely to get a slagging. theres room here for rubicon fans pitchblack fans, sommerset fans and k'lee fans. if kids want to gush about bands in their forum then good on them, that's what those forums are there for. Why do you people find members with different tastes to yours so threatening? and then you whinge on and on about bigots and racists. oh the irony.
thank you nibbles! yessss! finally someone speaks up about the sheeeyite you bunch are spewing all over this site. (And it is a very small bunch in case anyone else has noticed and not surpirsingly they all seem to be present and accounted for)
Nana do you realise how much you sound like a patronising old biddy or should i say lurking paedophile? whats with this need to bond with the youth of today?
I havent posted on this site for a month because I couldn't get a fucking word in.
Auckland's woes seem worse than ours. Temple have got a petition going online fighting the cause up there. we should help them out too.
oh come on andoru. don't you mean blindspott? when have you ever heard Jon rap or Phil scratch. fucks sake.
