There's got to be some pretty unhappy Australians out there.

I was so keen for the gig on Saturday, but my friends weren't. Bummed I missed it.
The song with Kirsten is indeed awesome, but then I'm a sucker for sad songs every time.

An X-Files episode had

Was that you Heather?
I suck at guitar
But there's something cool about
Playing just for me
In no particular order and with many omissions:
- Black math
- Dead leaves and the dirty ground
- Ball and biscuit
- We're going to be friends
- I just don't know what to do with myself
- In the cold cold night
- I want to be the boy to warm your mother's heart
- The hardest button to button
- Seven nation army
Yeah, we only went after getting tickets cheap on the day from a woman I work with who couldn't go at late notice.
...hideous buzzing during the White Stripes last night? Really cool gig regardless though. Some thoughts:
- How many young fellas are now in love with Meg White?
- I like a slight pause between songs to digest what I've just heard, and to show appreciation.
- I want to learn slide guitar.

// sycophantic, bootlicking, patronising and inherently self-obsessed plankton as Holmes
Word! I like your style.
Do you mean to imply that racism isn't an issue I've thought about until now? Or that we should make less noise about this because racism is more prevalent that some people think? I don't exactly know what you're getting at.
Fair point about the Nobels Joanna. Hence my second post above, "he could have said it about anyone and it would have been as offensive".
In fact, his achievements mean nothing. Holmes could have said that about anyone and it would have been as offensive.
If you ignore it, you condone it.
Holmes's statements were racism of the highest order. They were denigrating all Kofi Annan's accomplishments (e.g. Nobel Peace Prize) and all the respect that he has around the world and within the UN, on the basis that he is a 'cheeky darkie from Ghana', the implication being that Holmes knows better as he's white despite being just a media commentator in a small country far removed from the action. Absolutely disgusting.
And that's ignoring the fact that the entire UN applauded Kofi Annan's speech and were silent for George Bush's. So Holmes's perspective on the role of the UN and Iraq is one not shared be the majority of the UN, nor, I suspect, by the majority of NZ'ers.

No, I think it's an entirely appropriate reaction. Reasons available on request.
I have dodgy piercings by proxy.
My friend wanted to pierce the top of his ear, so placed a piece of wood between his ear and head, put a needle on the other side, and whacked his head into a wall. The needle went through and stuck in the piece of wood, and the cartilage kinda contracted around it so it was a mission for him to get it out.
Argh, simultaneous posts. I mean the first one, haven't tried yours noizy.
I buy mine frozen from the Thai shop in Mt Albert.
