Haha, we got called by Intergalatic and were asked to play. No fee, but now we have 'ELIMINATED' written on some stupid web site.
Awesmoe.
For now I can't say I'm overly concerned about the name thing. Sure it's there to worry about. There's a label called Slowdance and songs galore called Slowdance. Just shows our imaturity ealier on. Everyone learns from mistakes.
If we were begining to get any kid of exposure withing the NZM circuit, then by all means we'd probably have to think it over. Realistically, unless a name we just HAVE to have comes up, we'll stick by the small fan base we allready have knowing us as 'Slowdance', and focus on writing better music.
Uh, we're playing tonight. With New Way Home, Second Theory, Tubuku and Side Project. It should be uber sweaty and fun. Come for loud times and lots of beer etc.
xx
Falter are playing an All Ages show tonight!

Schmoove, why not stop forking out for tonnes of gear to emulate an Ampeg, and buy an Ampeg?
I'm thinking you should try keep it a whole lot more simple. Having that much gear to achieve two sounds means you have a whole lot of new things that can go wrong, and if one piece of the equipment goes bung or there's a shit lead, then the rest of your rig will be useless.
You're only as god as the weakest link, etc.
In what context do you use the distortions and so on?
I'm running a grinding bass tone the whole time, using a Marshall JCM800 100Watt Lead, with an awesome 'Ibanez Mostortion' through my 4x10. Sometimes I'll get a fairly scoopy sound going on my Jansen 75 as well to boost the warmth of it all, but i'd never use it live.
Bass -> Effects -> Amp -> Cabinet. Chur.
Nikki you undersized yet truly wholesome ball of raging confused sexuality, I am home in two weeks.
TWO WEEKS.
I love you more, honestly.
So yeah, this next shiz-o will probably be the last for a while. Slowdance will be on the down low for a time writing and rehearsing after Sam (me) gets back from Auckland.
Eager to get the new tracks a cranking etc.
New music, website, clothes and left handed masturbation techniques all in the works.
Chur /m/
ps: Tony boy, talk english! /m/
Just aquired myself a Jansen Bassman 75 with 2 year old tubes for $275, with a crap 15" cab.
Playing this thing, through my 4x10, is a dream.
I've been searching for a 50 for so long, then came across this 75Watt all tube beauty for a stupidly low price tag. It's in wicked condition.
I love it to bits. I can't stop playing it. It puts amps $2k + to shame.
Other Jansen kiddies, share the love!
Ah, not arguing bro, thought you asked it as a question :p
I can't fuckin wait to see/hear these.
When I'm rich I'd buy one with the trem.
Sex.
//Is it a better idea to add features, or keep it as affordable as possible?//
I think the best option is a mix of both. THe musicians want the most useable and affordable amp. Perhaps three stages is too much, perhaps two and the muso' can use separate pedals etc.
It's just, if the amp sounds so damn good, why buy pedals? ;)
3 gain stages. My god, how technical.
He asked, and Is making it for a specific sound, of which comonly sees those three stages used.
If he considered it perfect, he wouldn't be asking for ideas now, would he.
With the guitar footswitch, if trying to keep it easy, perhaps give the option of what it changes from and to when you hit it.
Or, and I'm not sure how practical this would be, but why not make it a three stage pedal.
Don't hit it, it's clean.
Hit it, it's part clean.
Hit it again, it's dirty.
Hit it again, clean etc.
Perhaps some kinda of form can be devised to make that actually work effectively.
Hum.
Speaking of leaving space and rack's, how about leaving 1 or 2 rack spaces at the bottom of the chassis for tuners and other such LED light wonders?
Perhaps the ability to control Master volume via a floor board? So the preamp and everything is still cranking hard, but the over all volume has dropped.
I dig quiet chaos. So to speak.
Heya man, this is really exciting and refreshing to read.
Do you have anything to do with MW amplifiers? They are brilliant.
A couple of ideas anyway.
Perhaps (i don't know how) but give some kinda of stereo compatability. I've got a fetish for stereo delays, and buying two amps to run it well isn't really a nice option. Perhaps bi-amping it, with 2 speaker outs.
How clean would the clean be? 3 stages of gain would be nice. none, some and UBER.
Perhaps built in tremelo too. Yeah, pedals are an option, but the more that can be fitted into such amps the better. And hell, you'd be adding a unique sound to an amplifier and the bands that use it.
But yes, sounds wicked I can't wait to see this get underway.
PS: Cover them in white vinyl or leopard skin. Please? ;)

Punkt. Go suck a cock, grow up, and learn to handle someone negating your precious PC atrocity.

Check that out man, Should by right up your alley :)
Punkt, I do believe it's the user that is the problem in Mac/PC compatability.
Trying to get a Mac to work with a PC is far easier than a PC to a Mac.
And, If the said 'equivilent' of a P4 3.2Ghz in terms of processes and power is a top end G4, think how much power comes from a Dual 2.5Ghz G5.
Macs = Reliabilty, functionality, power, proffesionalism.
PC's = Waste of time, money, effort and panadol.
