Hate to rain on the parade and in doing so be horribly synical but I fear that this new quota will only mean that we will listen to the same NZ music,but just more frequently.If it stated more clearly that more new NZ music would be hitting the airwaves then I might sit up but until then I remain very skeptical of this new found openess to change.

STOODS were the winners of the Lion Red Raw battle of the Bands NZ final,I was there,I saw,and I think from the hundreds of bands that entered obviously the band with the pop/rock fold is gonna get some stick from the other genres but once again its about the folding stuff and whether u guys think they are too much like the feelers or not original enough I think you will see their name around alot more in the future.So change the channel hollis and winge about summin else mate!

For what its worth......as much as so many of us would like the name SHIHAD to stay(another 11yrs), it would seem its all but gone.And to my knowledge at least it would appear without a real fight from the lads themselves.Oh yeah I realise they arent doing cartwheels about the change either,but surely they have to ask themselves "Are we selling out"?The change comes about because of an opportunity to break into the American Market sooooooo surely not changing their name and showing some good ole fashioned RnR defiance would sell them a fuck of alot more records in the long run.Dont listen to these A and R wankers they dont give a flogg about being sensitive to a grieving nation,I beleive that they realise SHIHAD are a fuckin brilliant rock-band and if they can just have them change a few minor points(namely their name of 11yrs,did I mention that?) then there are megabucks in it for them!!!!SHIHAD will always be SHIHAD,to me anyway.
