oh come on let's not get carried away here.
I think it would be fair to say that your musical sound isn't completely original?
They didn't make it through. I don't think they could have cause they were playing in the South Auckland semis when they're from the Shore. Funny :P
It's funny you should mention them. I have their tunes stuck in my head and they won't go away. They're a cool bunch of guys also.
moose I agree with there being many music presenters out there who know nothing about music and that annoys me. It's like people who review band albums who are in to rugby. But I've always thought of Jane as one of the more educated presenters on our television and she has been at many different gigs I've been at.
In fact, out of all the television hosts, I see her 99% more than I see any of the other presenters at gigs.
mission gizzard sound like lots of bands... lots of bands sound like lots of bands. we're all influenced by each other. So stop your whinging and lets have a party!
That is wacky. So did this guy trash your gear because of the noise while recording the album?
Anyway look foward to hearing the album.
Sounds like it moose. I'm bored with most of those presenters and will probably watch it far less than I would have when I heard they were searching the whole of nz to find them. I would have been keen for some new faces for the new channel.
What once sounded new and exciting now looks old and dull.
Nevermind. I wasn't trying to reinvent the wheel, just make a smaller version with a smaller community for my local area.
Ok right. Did Koe or Prozaco not understand the concept?
I'm talking based on nz muso's concept which is more local where as nzmusic.com is national, doesn't update the gig guide as much as I would like and has piss all information in the gig guide.. (I've found gigs listed that aren't happening and information advertised that wasn't correct). Nzmusic.com is great generally but all I really use is the forum.
This discussion would work a whole lot better without the idiot comments.
Right. The website I'm talking about would be a way of people updating what was sent out to the email list, so that one person doesn't have to do all the work and write the email themselves or copy and paste other peoples emails telling them about a gig. Does that make sense or sound like nzmusic.com to you?
On the website there would be somewhere where a user could sign up and add their email address so that they are sent the gigs to their inbox. People who sign up also could have the function of adding gigs to be sent out on the mailing list.
I was looking foward to some fresh faces... but the line sounds boring.
Saturday 27 September at Galatos for the finals of the battle of the bands. It is possible that it will be R18
I don't know what you guys think but i have localoutput.com which was once the label i used to put on shows in Auckland but I no longer use this label and everyone who visits the site knows that the whole local output thing is over.
The website could be used as a place where bands who are signed up to the service could submit their events and news as well as perhaps an unofficial section of the site where rumours and that sort of thing could be posted. Then the content of the website could be emailed out weekly.
At the moment, there are ways sending mass email using the domain so it wouldn't be quite as cheap as yahoo and would sound slightly more official.
You might hate the idea... but maybe not?
Anyone any good at writing php and that sort of thing?
Yeah I was kinda interested in the checks so I emailed the above addresses and got no reply from either of them. That sux.
I have a t-shirt. I wear it a lot. Sometimes I wear it in with all my other band t-shirts because it gets cold in the winter.
I look foward to seeing them play up in Auckland again at the Masonic.. oh wait, they play at Galatos first I think? Well.. I look foward to seeing them play in Auckland!
I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that. The band should have entered on the North Shore where their support group is.
I've noticed a lot of bands who played the battle of the bands and didn't make it through were asked to enter in another region. There must be a rule against allowing bands to compete more than once. It's kind of stupid if you think about it. But then again, it's about playing, it's about experience, it's about fun.
Argh, I just can't see it the way you do. You must have had a really bad experience or something to be feeling the way you are.
Try thinking about it this way. If this band really is great and better than everyone else, they deserve to win. If not, then I don't think Mr Featherstone would be happy with them winning!
I've heard of worse things happening over Battle of the Bands. Get over it and let them play! It's all about fun right? Let them have fun and fuck the politics!
I once went up to this guy at a gig and asked him if he was the fourth member... cause he looked like he fit in with the band. It turned out he was the drummers brother... a few years younger.
Are fourth member a christian band? I never knew.
