Hi

I'm a drummer looking to join a band. Any style considered as long as there is a good song writer and a great front person in the band. I'll choose great song writing over great musicians any day but a combination of both would be ideal (haha of course). I have plenty of live, touring and recording experience. Preferably want to join late teens/early 20's band members with dreams of touring and releasing albums worldide. No band members with Kids or morgages.

email me on daveplaysdrums at gmail.com I don't check here very often.

Cheers.

Greenman keeps sying he will listen to any recordings he is sent, and play them if he likes them. Have you sent him a recording? Maybe he didn't like your band.

Last night I saw 3 awsome bands at the Kings Arms. Stylus, Stardrunk and Stadium. It was a mere $5 to get in. There was a good turn out for a Thursday night, more people than I was expecting in fact. All 3 bands ripped shit up! So whats the problem? The Audience thats what!! They just stood there, as far from the stage as they could get, looking bored. Sure they clapped politely between songs but it was a ROCK CONCERT for fucks sake! They only guy who seemed to be having a good time was the pissed old man dancing by himself infront of the stage! And then when it was all over everyone was talking about how good the gig was saying how it was rare for every band on the line-up to be that good. What the Fuck? I guess Aucklanders are just too cool to show their emotions!

the Stylus song "Everywhere" was number 19 on the ChannelZ chart last night, Everyone should ring up and vote for it cause its a cool song and it should be number1 !!

loudness : 27 June 2002 - 6:53pm

At the moment all you can do is ring Channel Z or the Rock or any other station you like and hassle them to play it, then Tape it!

The new Dayone singer's name is Richard. And he is not Chris' brother. Funny Idea though! ha ha. He used to be in a band called Switch, then when they fired him they changed their name to Dirt Theory. They have a new web site under constuction but it's quite Shit at the moment.

I think you missunderstood me, I didn't mean cool in an "exclusive wanky" kind of way. I ment in a "goes hard, jumps up and down, cheers & yells alot" kind of way. The bigger & Louder the better! hang on a minute, you were taking the piss wern't you. Opps I'm an idiot.

For me playing live is where its at. Thats the reason for being a musician. Recording is fun, but its nothing compared to the rush you get being onstage infront of a cool audience. My point is this, if I have to pose on a couch for a publicity photo, get a sponser to pay for gig posters or put make up on and dance around under lights for a music video, to get more people to come to the shows, then I'll do it! I don't enjoy it, but its a nececary evil in this dumbass indistry. Anyway isn't selling you soul to the devil the first rule of Rock'n'Roll!
Peace
