ARRRRRRRGH!
It's metal madness on Squeeze this week as we look at the thriving, if somewhat underground, local heavy metal scene. We get blown out of the studio by the prolific 8 Foot Sativa, we visit Ramekin at their home studio in South Auckland, and we join Subtract at Studio 203 as they work on their long-awaited debut album. As well as the bands, we find out what's going on with local metal from bFM's Sicoff, and the Rock FM's Paul Martin of radio show 'Axe Attack' fame.
Get hard, heavy and loud with Squeeze - 3pm Sunday and again at 11.30pm Thursday
PS: 8 Foot Sativa are doing an instore gig at Real Groovy Auckland on Friday 2nd August, 6:30pm. Go.
PPS: Don't forget to vote for the People's Choice award for the Squeeze New Zealand Music Awards show on the 18th August. Go to the website to vote...

After three years of working on it, Subware have finally released their debut self-titled album. This week on Squeeze we talk to Subware and find out why it's not really a house album as such. We're also talking to Bic Runga and Dubious Brothers who have recently released new albums as well. Nice.

As you've probably seen in the "news" section, 'Heavenly Pop Hits: The Flying Nun Story' is on this Sunday night (7th July) at 10:20pm on TV2. In the "news" section is says the documentary is an hour long, but it's actually an hour and a half long. Just thought you guys should know...
By the way, I've had a sneak preview and it's bloody brilliant!
As you were...
thanks, for all you who missed it, just letting you know it's on again tonight at 11.30.
For you who didn't get to see the video, this weekend on Squeeze is the Television Premier of 'Happy Song'. We also look behind the scenes of making it and the band talks about making music and their new album Primary. Squeeze 3.00pm Sunday and 11.35pn on Thursday night.
Just to hype it some more. If you missed it on Sunday, it's on again tonight at 11.35.
I'm sure a lot of it is simply because they were physically here, which gave the media (us included) an opportunity to interview them face to face. When kiwi bands come home for a brief visit we try to talk to them, I can assume it's the same for the rest of the media too.
Also there was a preview of 8 tracks from the new album and that probably got some people excited. You also have to bear in mind that even though they were here for BDO they only did one or two interviews, so it's been a little while since a lot of people have had the chance to catch up with them.
Hate to say it but if you think there's been alot of hype now, then wait till the album actually comes out. we were not allowed to talk about their new album, the record company were very specific about that, and i know that's also true of others. No talk about it until it comes out.
This is the one you've been waiting for...
