Last CD i bought was The Blood Brothers-Burn, Piano Island, Burn. Damn its good.
thats truly good that young Keisha got a nomination for best actress, and it is very good that ROTK got so many nominations. However i would have liked to see Niki Caro get a nomination for Best Director.

The new video rocks! Very clever, must have been an effort to make though. Thats the most wool i've ever seen in a music video. hehe. Go Steriogram...Go Gondry...

Sonic Youth: these guys were rumoured to be playing next years one, i think a lot of people were dissapointed that they weren't, so they really should come over. i mean, it's been how long since they played here? they'd be the perfect headliners. they are such an amazing band, if they were to play i'd definately make the trip to the BDO '05
Q and not U: this band is awesome, i'd love to see them live. Australian and New Zealand audiences should be given the opportunity to see them live!
Pretty Girls make Graves: Look at the line up for next year. how many of the acts have a female front person? Big day out 05 should have at least one! Pretty girls make graves would be cool
2003 gave us the best new zealand music show ever - Big Night In!!!
"(So and so band) aren't REAL punk!"
"That band uses more than 3 chords in their songs, they must be pretentious wankers!"
"New Zealand music isn't going anywhere!"
"I know more than you about music cause i've heard of (insert obscure band)"
on the subject of old games, anyone ever play java tava: isle of fire? we were all addicted to it at primary school ( probably 'cos it was about the only game we could play) but no one could ever get very far...
i loved that show. Some of my faveourite quotes are "You people who think you know everything are annoying to those of us who do" and i also like "Avoid hiring unlucky people: throw away half the CVs without looking at them" (I'm not sure i got those quotes exactly right, but it was something like that anyway)

I saw the vid for Day to Day on c4 earlier. simple concept but it looked really cool. i like the end when your'e all swinging on the swing. swings are fun! cool photography.
I'm going up to Wellington at the end of the month, i was really happy cause i thought i'd get to see HDU on the 29th, but now i find out that their shows been cancelled GODDAMMIT! Sooo anyway, what's on that i can go see between the 26th and 29th? i may as well make the most of being up there by getting to some good gigs
some people played with fire works up on the hill above our town. the rest of the town didn't need fireworks, they watched the hill catch on fire. i missed it, but apparently it was very pretty.
I wish i'd seen all of them!

Darcy Clay
At the Drive in
Nirvana
Superette
Weta
Pavement
the Clash
Smashing Pumpkins
