Similar to that retard face but a bit more screwed up and lots of sweat and dribble. It was so awesome.
The D4's sound was horrible and the guitarist "lead breaks" were the worst thing Ive heard in a long time, he just couldnt get it right with all his effects and stuff and he seemed to be going out of tune a lot.
//People tend to be friendlier the futher south you go
I resent that! I'm North of Auckland and im a friendly person, a lot nicer than you'd find in Auckland
I quite enjoyed it to tell you the truth. I watched slash doing his thing and in one particular solo he sorta looked like a retard, no offense its just the only way to described it, he had his face all screwed up and was sweating like a mofo and it looked like he was dribbling, what more could you ask for? The D4 were absolutely useless in my opinion, it wouldve been a much better show if they had a better opening act that could get the crowd a bit more enthusiastic and then not wait an hour between the opening band and the headlining band, that irritated me. I think with concerts, if you're in the mood for them you enjoy them a lot but if you dont really wanna be there and you not excited about the musicians your bound to have a bad time.
and holding my own by the darkness and love is only a feeling until it got overplayed and goodbye to romance by ozzy

Killswitch Engage - Rose of Sharyn is one of those crazy songs that makes you want to cry and be happy but not cry because your happy sorta thing, maybe im just screwed in the head and vermillion pt 2 by slipknot is quite an emotional song. Also Goo Goo Dolls Iris as someone said before and Vacant by Dreamtheater. They are amazing.
Im a guitarist that wants to start/join a band but i live in warkworth, WHY DOES NOONE LIVE OUT HERE!
Ah... they start with S so silly of me no have note realized that. Thanks for pointing that out
They are completely different, I'm not going to state my opinion about which band is better because past experiences have proven that if I do I'll get my head bitten off but SOAD are much different as they have a vocalist who sings a lot more than screams whereas Slipknot just scream most of the time. Most Slipknot songs have a steady fast paced drumbeat driven by the double kick whereas System is generally driven by guitar more than drums and system use more melodies than slipknot. They are not in the same ballpark they have very different techniques and styles of playing and very different musicianship.
Well I was close, and Jet even if your not aiming that at me Im gonna cover myself and say that I said it was unexpected, not good nor bad just unexpected.
Phunbox got reasonably high marks I think between 35-42 I cant quite remember but they screwed up during the guitar solo and the markers said that that needed a bit of work and james thinks thats why they didnt get through but I thought they just didnt get into it as much as they usually do. I thought link did really well compared to their usual standard but Im not sure what else they'll do for the regionals.
i was thinking of doing brother john but im not sure how well it will go down cuz its pretty odd and the assessors will either love it because of that or think im crazy because of that
i think ill save that for seventh form, itll pass with excellence then so why waste it now, and i have to learn it in one week and i think at my skill level that is impossible
I need 2 pieces to play next tuesday and i have very few ideas of songs that i can learn well in that short time, I'm considering doing "Stay close to me" by Tommy Emmanuel but i dont have a good accoustic to use and it sounds pretty bad on electric but it may be alright on a classical. If anyone has any ideas i would be very appreciative.
// you've seen one, you've seen them all
I beg to differ grusome, you may think they all sound the same because you are not particularly intrested in the genre but in my opinion they all have a very different sound. For example Opeth are more harmonized in a lot of their songs and dont use the low growl quite as much as Children of Bodom and Mudvayne tend to have their vocals a lot faster. The haunted is more guitar driven than Slipknot as they have many technical riffs and all that jazz whereas Slipknot is more guitars loaded with so much distortion that you can barely hear what they are playing and their main component is the fast double kick and drumbeat and their screaming vocals. To conclude with all genres sound similar o people who aren't particularly interested in them such as myself and rap, i find it repetitive and boring and it all sounds the same but i have friends that have informed me otherwise proving my point that if you are into it you appriciate the uniqness of it, if you arent into it you dont listen to it and by listening to it I mean hearing the different talents that the artists have and the different techniques put into the song to make it appeal to listeners.
Blah that was probably a waste of time and no ones gonna read it.
and disturbed have been here and corrosion of conformity and i think we just missed out on Children of Bodom but im not sure on that.
I think slipknot have been here once before, maybe at a bdo or something, but we have had system, pantera, murderdolls, linkin park, manson, metallica and probably a few more that i can't think of right now come to NZ but the promoters are doing a really bad job because soilwork, opeth, anthrax, mudvayne, slayer, soulfly (i think all of them) have been touring australia in the last year or so but the promoters over here think noone will pay to see them so they dont try and get them over here because if noone sees them, they dont get paid.
Only when I listen to the radio and they have the whole "play more nz music" thing going on
I dont like it and he has a high voice and a small vocabulary, if I'm thinking of the correct person.
That would be all good if the musicians got most of that money but the record companies pocket most of it.
I know a couple of people who went and really enjoyed it. I would have liked to have gone even though not many of the bands really "tickle my pickle" I just enjoy watching live music and if there was a good mosh pit that would have been fun too. I do hate the edge and most of the music they play I don't like very much but it would be a bit of fun and $35 for that many bands is a pretty good deal. I wouldnt not go to a concert because theres gonna be skanks/preps etc. there thats stupid, you could go there and have fun listening to live music and pour coke or something on their white pants so it stains and looks like they couldnt find the toilet if you do it right.
I moslty agree with your post but in saying that if they legalised marijuana it would be seen as giving up ie. the homosexual marriage thing and prostitution. our government seems to legalise anything that america has and anything that if they dont legalise it will cause a bit of a ruckus. That really wasnt worded well and wasnt a very well thought up arguement but im too lazy to fix it... what im trying to say is we need a government with the balls to stand up to things and stick to their laws rather than changing them. Meh I give up.
