my band had the raddest time at rockquest 05, one of the koolest times we spent together. Started off we got out of school 3 hours early, we o rotorua, wehnt to the venue checked in and then we had like 2-3 hours to waste before we had to be backstage....so we went up town and had fun, told our bass played to hop in a trolley(the idiot he is he did so) and we pushed him out into the car park and then ran away while he was in the pouring down rain getting soaked, haha. We got on stage, played a kick ass set, we were the 3rd band on and there were like 16 bands all up, so we had a little wait. So we were running around the hwole venue having a massive water fight with out water bottles. Ahh good times.
My advice....drink heaps of energy drinks, so you're hypo and play a kick-ass show and just over all have fun"

Its ok to get "ideas" from a bands song and be like "oh k if i change this part here and put this there" but when you copy EVERYTHING that's kinda ratshit, aye. Take bowling for soup and 48may for example....listen to punk rock 101 from bowling and then leather and tatoos from 48may, you'll get my drift

here's a tip for some of you people who hate being screwed over by playing in a band, pouring your heart out into the songs and then you leave and they keep your music or some other band steals your song and claims its theres.
STEP1: write the lyrics to the song out and above that write the guitar chords to the song and put at the bottom of the paper your bands name and all members names
STEP2: put it into a envelope and lick it shut DONT USE SELLOTAPE, and then address and send it to yourself
STEP3: Once it arrives put it somewhere safe and DONT open it, so if someone tries to claim its theres and some big shit starts....you'll have proof it's yours, 'cause the envelope will have a post mark date on it and yea....you win.

about 4 weeks ago i moved up to Auckland from Taupo and back down there i was in a punk band, we were together for like a year and a bit and yesterday i FINALLY gave up my place in the band. We had a few songs and i wrote all of them, the guitarin, the lyrics, most of the bass riffs and even came up with the tunes and yesterday when i told them i couldn't play for them nomore they were like "oh k, we'll play with out you, we'll remember you when we play the songs" and they wouldn't let me keep the songs, so in the end i was like "screw yous, keep the songs, i don't want any credibility for them, but i'm keeping the new one we started workin on over christmas" and i haven't heard back so, hopefully they gave up. I was pissed off tho
