And just for the record (i really should have put this all in one post) ...
I already agreed to co-authorship!!! Learn to read the whole topic before you get all high and mighty. I don't want a damn thing to do with you freeloaders ... if you co-authored all the songs, how is that you've written NOTHING else. Calling me a Druggie??? Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha, i mean ... hahahahahahahahahahah!
PS ... Mama Sue, i heard you had a real good time is Oz last year. What happened when you came back to NZ again? Hmmmm ... dunno. Still working as a lawyer are we?
Hmmm ... can you think of any more lies to validate yourself? I never named anybody on this forum, nor did i give the impression i was talking about specific people. I simply wanted the opinion of genuine musicians, and to vent my anger. Grow up and stop inventing more reasons to make yourselves smell like roses ... i mean really, how many of your mates did you get to post on here just so you could feel 'satisfied'.
Awesome gig at Wachner place guys!!! Bit rough on the "Dr Who Theme" (I've heard you play that one way better), but the rest of the set was wicked!
They'd be ok for someone who doesn't hit their cymbals too hard i guess, but i've seen so many people who smash the hell outa them and bust em after a week or so.
I have worked in the music industry for a long, long time and i feel qualified to point out a few minor things about your post, no offense intended. Granted all the brands you mention make high end drum kits, but they also make low end models. The basic Tama kits can be obtained for approx $1095NZ, which is only a few hundred more than a cheap nasty Ashton kit, which is the cheapest i've come across (Bar the Stagg kits, and we wont go near them with a long stick).
Are you talking about second hand drums kits? I wouldn't sell any customer a drum kit with scratches on it ....
I'm not trying to be sarcastic, it's just not my style, but this thread is starting to follow a slightly 'Look what i found on the net' kinda twist.
Im stunned that this topic exists .... stunned, speechless even!!!
I'm gonna start a new topic :
"How many letters of the alphabet can you use?"
Thanks for the advice Heather (and everybody), i text one of the guys today and told him that i'd agree to co-authorship, but i said i wouldn't agree to publication or broadcasting. As far as i know the Copyright Act 1994 allows me to do that. I'm not happy about it, but seems best to leave them to their karma.
I'm a bit of a metal head, i confess, but id have to say Comfortably Numb by Flloyd gets my vote for the greatest solo. It's just so emotive and atmospheric ... maybe it's cos i'm a depressive bugger!
Dude, Dave Mustaine didn't write all of Metallica's songs before he left!!!!
The other guitarist from my old band is playing all my guitar parts, kinda sucks cos i taught him how to play. Problem is, he's shit ... he butchers my masterpieces like a top of the pops special.
It's funny you should say that about karma, the whole band has recieved oodles of bad karma lately ... and if they continue to make money out of my hard work i hope they get a whole lot more!
Unfortunately my conscience prohibits me from naming them, much as it would be a nice kick in the teeth for them. 5 years of hard work went into the songs i used in that band, problem is that i'm not sure how to prove that, and they really dont give a shit about anybody but themselves. They haven't written a single song since i left ... mainly because they have the creative talent of a brick wall.
Hahahaha!!! Don't suppose you could give me a contact for the 'Bone Breaking Neanderthal Club'?
I wrote all the guitar lines, the music to all the songs if you like, bar a couple. When i left i'd written all the music for 10 out of 12 of the songs. I understand that copyright exists on completion of a musical work, however these guys have already 'trespassed' my from a mate's place and threatened to issue 'harrasment orders' for trying to state my case to them. I feel like my only option is copyright tribunal, but i can't believe it has to come to that.
Have you ever quit a band that you wrote most of the music for? What do you do when they turn round and tell you that it was joint-authored so they gonna keep playing it, recording it, broadcasting it etc? What do you do when a member of the band is a lawyer? AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!! Ever thought to yourself "Why the hell can't they just write their own stuff???"
In the immortal words of Ace Rimmer from Red Dwarf "Smoke me a kipper, i'll be back for breakfast"
Not really relevant, but what the hell! Yay!
Chuckle. It's not everyday i get shit from the olsen twins ... duh, is this funny mum?
Surely hormones and the effects they have on young teenagers should also be considered here, it is another important factor. Con or Non-con is academic in reality if a mind is clouded by a plethora of hormones that are simply not understood at that young age.
Thanx bro, it's true i know only a little bout drums ... i am a guitar tech after all!!! I don't take anything too seriously, in this business people either love you or hate you ... i just try to chill and not make too many waves ay.
I've watched you flourish from a good drummer into a fantastic drummer, and i hope to hell that your band stays strong. You guys do the best doctor who theme i've heard ... brilliant!!! Adam is a great guitarist.
Heheh, thanks ... i tried to get everything in there, just to be a bastard ...
It's nice to give a bit of shit back.
I'm seriously sorry though, i don't like to offend people ... only jokingly now and again.
All right, here it is :
