i think Ed Cake wrote that mama said it's alright to dream song...could be wrong but i've heard his version of it and it sounds pretty original to me...

Platform Studios has just had a serious upgrade to our capabilities. Kenny MacDonald (award winning engineer recently arrived in NZ from Scotland) has just moved in to control room B with a ridiculous amount of hardware including a yummy valve desk, protools HD and really great mics and hardware for Africa. I'll put details of the hardware and Kenny's CV on the Platform website over the weekend. We can now offer awesome recording options comparable to the big studios with much better value for money. Email me with any questions or booking enquiries.

Hi everyone. I finally got a website sorted for Platform. People in Auckland who are considering recording should check out the site. Any feedback on the site is welcome, as are any questions about the studio. Cool.

Hi I run Platform Studios in Queen St. We've been up and running for a few years now, and have done a whole heap of stuff from recording bands (Anika Moa, Duchess, David Yetton, One Million Dollars, The Brunettes, The Fanatics, Matthew Bannister, Motorcade, and others I can't remember right now), to audio production and/or music composition for all kinds of things (animation, tv, theatre, radio, corporate stuff etc). It's all going pretty well but I'd like to step it up a bit, so I'm looking for someone with great management and marketing skills to help me really get things cranking.

Platform is a big space right in the middle of the city (next to the Town Hall), fully soundproofed, lots of natural light (sounds like a flatmate ad) two control rooms, an artists lounge, kitchen, shower, the whole bit.

Please contact me if you think you have anything to offer from a management/marketing point of view.

Also, Dale Cotton (who used to be our 'on-call engineer') has moved to Dunedin so I'm looking for shit-hot engineers/producers who wouldn't mind some extra work as it comes in, or of course, engineers who need studio space.

Yes yes, "where's the website?" I hear you say. It's on it's way...
