news from the band , check out and pre-order Australian release of REdlightsyndrome at
www.karmichit.com out in Febuary apparently
pluto + phoenix foundation would be a great night out . You're a hard man to please Hollis , but I can respect that . Steve Abel also great , but better at the dogs bollix or a more intimate venue .
phoenix foundation at good work last night . Fucking superb . Easily Wellingtons best band .
forget all this formulaic ' garage rock ' bollocks , this is a band to get exited about
Tim Moon Tim Moon
take me to bed
says your bands great
while hes shaking his head
oh sweet Moony
lets frolic in the clover
just how many bands
will you try to fuck over
trevors so sweet to all his musicians
while tim screws them over in a range of positions
dead skin mask , what's that ? have to say the idea of driving down to wellington , playing and then going straight back the next day . Not a great time , just driving through Levin and Foxton could make even the most lighthearted soul feel depressed .
as far as I know it's PLuto / Augustino this friday at the naughty old bodge
that 'habit' is a figment of someones imagination , I've heard that rumour , but it ain't true .
believe me .
Steve is amazing , and Ben King is one of the best singers I've ever heard , fuck the " new rock revolution " , these guys are where it's at . Anyone notice how generic and predictable all these new garage rock bands are ? It's great to see people exited about live music again , but I want to see music that blends a range of influences from the past to make something new . It bores me to see a band who clone themselves on iggy pop and the Stooges , New York Dolls or the Velvet Underground . These bands were all marginalised by the mainstream in their time , as are the best bands of this era .
Beware of fashion at all times .
Alright ,you've started repeating yourself " nervey self-conciousness masquerading as ... blah blah.
you are obviously fully concious of the fact that noone in this forum will reinforce your anecdotes .
Thus you do it yourself .
What a fucking loser .
thats my girl , just keep sticking your snout into this tasty puddle of battery acid .
The idea of pronging your leg is about as appealing as fornicating with a rabid albino platypus.
That new Dandy Warhols ( the Last High ??) song sounds like something off Gran Turismo , think of the melody then imagine the Cardigans singer doing it .
whether you classify my comments as unintentional stupidity or genuine attempts to annoy you , the fact that you respond so frequently and so swiftly to my posts shows you're prone to manipulation . You're like a dog I've taught to play fetch . So keep those responses swift now lee lee . c'mon girl roll over , play dead ...
And as for best musician , well I guess you're like the Joe Satriani of the Anal trumpet .
Maybe you could call your first album ' Surfing up my own Arse ' !
actually the comparison to the Clean is quite tenuous and really designed just to froth up Lena . The Herald made that connection , and I've heard it a few times . To be honest I can't say I agree (maybe hey little / Beatnik ), although Pluto are closer to the clean and voom than they are to the mockers and Dragon . Having said , their costumes in the Bananas In the Mist video make Andrew Faigan seem like Russell Crowe on the piss.
No offence intended .
o.k if you are so upfront , what do you do and whats your relation to the music scene , are you in a band ?
And you're right , you are nessesary . there has been more discussion generated on Pluto since you came along than in the six months that preceded your arrival . Right now you're the bands no1 promoter on this website . Well done !
don't fret about Lena Soap.
anyone who slags off bands while hiding under an anonymous title isn't worth the effort , and in fact she keeps drawing attention to PLuto by posting here . So obvious she didn't watch space anyway , what songs got played and what did they sound like ? did they play 2 or 1 ?riddle me this little hairy hunchback . Pluto and Voom arn't exactly light years apart stylistically anyway and have a similar following for that reason (now wait for the rebuke on that one ) . Some of PLutos stuff was repeatedly compared to the Clean (another of Lenas favorites ) .So it must be a personal thing .
thats what attracted me to you in the first place , I didn't realise there was such an exotic dimension to farm life . stuff the webpage , the Checks need a nice horsey to ride to their performances . I'm sure lee lee would take good care of it while they played .
Hi Ho Silver !!!!
gee I'm sorry lee lee , it's just that well , sometimes I think you and I were meant to be together
anyhow you can write what you want and I'll show up writing what I want .
You know I thought after the drinks we had last friday you would have gotten over our separation , I mean I let you down real nice . please don't embarass yourself by trolling around after me . I still love you really .
oh you're in here too lee lee , seeping all over this website like pus from a boil .
leave the checks alone and stop cleaning your dogs genitalia with your tongue , your comments reek of canine smegma .
So you were on the door list were you , my hairy little princess . Cheap as well as nasty .
hollis , who are you recording in Norway ? and I have to say it surprises me that Lena would have anything to do with Voom , they're a great band . Funny to see how many articulate people in this forum disagree passionately with her and also the fact that she'd pay to see 7 shows of a band she hates .
Really failing the IQ test there lee lee . Still I respect any woman capable of growing a beard , good for you .
poor lena , her arguement reduced to a flacid " you are wrong " . I can almost hear a hissing , gurgling sound as she melts away back into that rancid little corner she popped up from .
hollis have you heard the phoenix foundations stuff ? pretty damn good I reckon , thanks for passing on the degrees k details to charlie also . I love that band .
I do hope you keep replying to my comments Lena , I'm enjoying the way you're gradually destroying your own arguments and replacing them with new and infinately more retarded ones .
In my last post I was not starting a discussion over the merits of commercial radio , by saying that if it wasn't playlisted on a well known format it must be fantastic . you know why ?
because there are examples of great bands and artists who do get a huge amount of exposure on commercial radio . and talented musicians who don't . Great music sounds good on any radio format.
So really I was critisising a certain cynical method of marketing and trying to make the point that perception can be bought .
So what's more persuasive , mass marketing or peer pressure ? you seem to have the two running separately from one another . I think advertising contributes hugely to peer pressure , and I think that most of the people I know , who have developed taste in music that is not mainstream do it because they want to feel free to listen to the music they like .
this by the way happens with people of all ages right across the board , often it is harder to go against peer pressure and like something noone else does .
But the point you make which undoes everthing you have tryed to assert during your stay here in the PLuto forum is that people should ; judge music for what it is and not who champions it .
I agree totally , but the majority of your comments have been directed against people in this forum who like and champion the band . You've slagged off their taste , and condemned them as gullible try hards . In fact the only reason you posted here in the first place was to dissagree with someone who obviously enjoyed the music pluto make . If you really look at what the bands music is and you don't like it , then why bother making this forum such good entertainment ? you're obsessed with peoples likes and dislikes (judging by your comments ) far more than the music itself .
redwing , I have to agree that Dance stamina was not entirely what I expected from Pluto , but to me thats kind of refreshing , both in terms the bands ability to take new approaches and the fact that it's a welcome repreive from the chest pounding " garage rock " trend . Yes an artist needs to innovate and create a unique perspective , but for fucks sake they also have to be relevant ! It's an artists job to reflect upon the culture they live in .I had a chat to the guy who engineered that track . The band played it live in a room straight to 16 track tape and overdubbed vocals and handclaps . I think it's a relevant comment about the Dj being superseeded by bands again , almost full circle from the days of New Order and the Happy Mondays . I also know from recent live shows that their material is extremely varied , so celebrate their versatility . Perfectly evil / Hey Little / Stick with it / Dance stamina . They are a diverse band in a sea of clones .
