sucks you can;t modify posts on here....
should have read.. "add" $50 for 4,5 bands not "and"
and home phone number is 09 3584294 not 09 35842

godsofnothin : 7 March 2006 - 1:06pm

If anyone has a gig coming up and wants to sound great we have a proffessional PA for hire at $300 (gst inc) for up to 3 bands.. and $50 for 4 or 5 bands. Might cost a bit more than just a vocal pa.. but well worth it for the step up in quality sound.
This is a full PA, with a 16 channel desk, mics, stands, cables, 3 or 4 monitors, and comes with 3 PAR lights, and an engineer for the night.
The desk is Allen and Heath, the main Speakers are Proel ( same as the Kings Arms). We also use a great delay fx on vocs and sometimes instruments which gives a nice proffessional sound.

Drop me or michelle an email at mark@therockfactory.net or call 09 35842 or 021 358577
oh.. if theres stairs and no elevator have to add $50 for heavy labour.

here are the specs:

Rack A:
* Allen and Heath Mix Wizard V.3 desk with 16 channels
* 2 x 31 band EQ - Alto
* 4 channel compressor - Alto
* 2 channel gate/expander/compressor/enhancer - Alto
* Lexicon MPX 110 dual channel Effects Processor Unit
* CD player.

Rack B:
* Phonic XP3000 Amplifier
* Carver 1250 amp

Speakers:
* 2 x Proel TFL212P8 ( Passive loudspeakers ) with two 12 inch cones and a horn (Same type of mid speakers as at the Kings Arms)
* 2 x Wharfdale double 15 subs

Monitors:
* 3 x Wharfdale powered 15 inch wedges with horns.

Misc:
* Snake EWI 16/4 on reel - about 50 metres long
* lots of cables, mics(Shure, Akg, Audix and Audio Technica)
and stands , xtention cables and 4,6 plugs. etc..

we play mostly originals, and would call the genre 'pub rock'. prospective drummer must have own (good) gear, be of proficient standard, want to have fun and be willing to practice/gig once a week/fortnight. we have own practice space where you'd be able to practice drums if we'd like you to join us as our drummer.
most of us are in our mid 20s.

e-mail: theband@godsofnothing.com to organise a jam with the band.

you can listen to some of our stuff on:

or the website below under the band profiles for "Gods of Nothing" and "Mailbox Skipole".

YEP, rock on

//Bands are judged on 10 different aspects of their performance, to try and get over the fact that overall a judge may like or dislike a certain band. When you break down a performance into diverse catergories such as technical ability, songwriting and stage presence you may be surprised at what the outcome is.

hmmmm. i still want to see one of these famed judging sheets. not once at any of the gigs did i see one.
we asked to see ours at the central auckland final, and were told to ring them the next day, and got the famed "You came very close behind the winner" line - no stats, no numbers, no evidence whatsoever that judging is really done as stipulated in the entry forms. just my experience. don't care that didnt win, but would like to see bands get their moneys worth for entering - i.e proper feedback so that they CAN take it away and work on improving their show???
