K Road Queens : 14 December 2006 - 11:36pm

//Hmmm krdprincess you have used the word 'should' quite a few times in your posts about how 'gay-friendly' evryone is these days, (presumably including you?) - whats your problem lady? I don't care who you fuck either. Being gay is kinda cultural as well as sexual you ignorant dingbat. Like um how many posts on here specify an age range, or a musical style? Grow up and fuck off and stop bothering folk goin' about their lawful business with alla your 'shoulds'. Dickhead.

ok, because Im hetro, Im a princess? a female cliche that you obviously hate? Im probably the furtherest you can get from a princess.

You mentioned the word "gay" or 'queer" 5 or 6 times within 3 lines of text with out mention anything musical... you're not about music at all... its all a facard for some fuct reason. You're visiting this site, not to find good band members for music's sake.... you're here saying... HEY HEY LOOK AT ME IM GAY LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME -GOT A PROBLEM MATE?..... your seem very proud about your sexual oreintation... but hey guess what... we don't give a fuck. We (other's apart from you) are here to talk about music.... you're just... gay gay gay... Im bored. Im not here to talk about gay issues.... if I was Id be in a gay... forum... hmm hmmm, where you SHOULD be, to find band mates..... you can't even see me trying to help...

so yeah - culture... bah! Its an image thing if you flaunt it - why don't us hetros get culture with our sexual oreintation too? Why is being gay so special... no one cares anymore, its fucking 2006 now? Everyones kinda over listening to "downtrodden" gays.

Im done, thanx for the mildly ammusing trans-tasman bitch slaps... its been fun... have fun talking about how gay you are with people who care... cheers.

K Road Queens : 14 December 2006 - 2:03pm

Heather, she should be in gay forums asking for musician.... she aint gonna find anyone good players thru this site. There are no drummers around... yet alone female drummers, yet YET alone gay female drummers... that chick got me totally wrong... wicked...

K Road Queens : 14 December 2006 - 1:40am

and yeah, thanx for the invite to kiss your arse... sorry to disappoint but, as i said... im not gay...

you should find gay friends and teach them to play, do it for fun...

music is about having fun and enjoying playing... not preaching gayness

K Road Queens : 14 December 2006 - 1:09am

//wow yeah this website is obviously really really queer friendly k rd kween(yeah right), uh like, kiss my ass you patronising twat...

jesus... awesome conflict-seeking skills you have there... you'd be GREAT to work with.

btw, I by, no means, said NZM. com was gay friendly. I meant , the arts/music/culture community ,generally, as a whole... like... people? fuctioning in the arts community? in real life? yknow?. Maybe you should try and become part of it? o... you are trying.... this is NOT the place to start. Maybe you should seperate your sex life from your band..... (who gives a shit what you do behind closed doors)..... your bands waiting to suck... HARD.
Heard of the gay-rights chick band Partyline? They suck and piss themselves on stage..... Classy... now thats a "music" scene I wanna be part of..... great way to get attention when you can't play instruments... yeah....
something to concider...

K Road Queens : 9 December 2006 - 2:10am

Hey y'all! We're goin into the studio again to record our two newest songs in jan, to be released with the other tracks early next year... yippee skippy!!

GIGS! - 16th - Old Bar - Melbz
Xmas Eve Eve - 23rd - Green Room - Melbz City

K Road Queens : 9 December 2006 - 2:04am

ok, so you're looking for a good, or ok, gay or gay freindly chick drummer....

most people are gay friendly these days you'll find, expecially when it comes to Arts/music/culture. So you would prefer a gay chick drummer? Well that aint me but, you're leaving yourself a pretty narrow, small bracket of people to choose from... is your band about playing music for yourselves, or the being gay? You could end up with a pretty shit band. Theres already limited amount of good musos.

Recording the album at long fuckin last...
Current mood: cheerful
Category: Music

Yep, finally we're gettin there - with the help and generous assistance of Matty Chow at Soundvault, we're layin down the foundations of what will be our cherry poppin first release. Gotta say I'm real happy with it so far, particularly with the never-previously-recorded "First Away At The Lights" and "Noughts & Crosses"...basically it's just the vocals to lay down and we're there.

It's been every Sunday evening that allowed in Mr Chow's busy schedule, which involved obligatory Stuyvies & Red Metal, kebabs and takeaway chinese food.

It's noisy as fuck, and the drums punch you in the pancreas, hard.

Hopefully we'll have some new tunes on myspace apart from those crappy PBS live-to-air ones that are on there now.

They were recorded with Mr Philip Blakemore on guitar duties at the time, and he had to sit down because his guitar strap wasn't on, and he had a concussion which made him throw up occasionally.

Cheers, KRQ xxx

Progress...long lost treasures...
Current mood: drained
Category: School, College, Greek

Well we have just three songs to chuck the vocals down on and we're done...having become fanatically addicted to my four track again recently, I rediscovered some stuff we recorded with Phil back at Midian in May last year - isn't it fucking awesome when you stumble across some buried treasure you'd completely forgotten about?

One such gem found in Davy Jone's locker is a cover of Tall Dwarf's "The Winner" which will now be an extra track on the album, also found a couple of jams that I think may just end up as myspace treats for a few weeks for anyone who cares to want 'em. We'll see.

Everything's sounding great on the recording, it'll definitely be worth the wait.

Cheers, Del xxx

... not dissing the dux mind! gee... I owe the place a lot.

but yeah 4 years in ChCh was enough for me, personally.

// Chart seems to be aimed at helping bands and musicians stick around in chch rather than them moving away.

I had to leave chch at the start of 2000... I couldnt deal with only having a very small hand full of venues to play at. I mean really... there only a certain amount of times you can play the dux before you're over it completely....

Aucks wasnt much better.....
Wellys doesnt interest me in the slightest.

K Road Queens : 18 July 2006 - 2:36am

//If the band is metal, then I dont think moving to aussie will be any help. Your only choice would be Europe.

Totally. Metal bands that Ive seen move to Melbz have no real places to play... they dont last too long
... there are a few venues that would cater, every other venue turns their noses up at metal generally... its more about rock here. Brisbane is another story tho... queenslanders love metal.... but the live scene isnt great up there.

Metal - central and northern Europe

Cheesy pop/rock - London

mainstream alt - USA

Phat and mean Rock - Melbourne.

As a women that plays drums, Ive been basically ignored in music instument shops... until they know I can play... these days I stick the one shop that knows me... and treat me like -a drummer... and not "some chick"....

all good bro ;)
..... interested to see nzm's new look when its sorted....

ummm, the page could have been NZM Community home page?, or if not that.... Artist home page

K Road Queens : 7 July 2006 - 2:06am

//Or you could look for better odds in an even bigger country like the UK or the USA?

Do you know how much it costs, to move an entire band to UK, or the US? These are good places to tour... if you can afford it.

Moving to Aus is cheaper... and Ive been told Melbourne has more live music venues than New York or London... apparrently...

K Road Queens : 7 July 2006 - 1:48am

//plus tall poppys get cut down in NZ. tall poppies get watered in Aussie.

eh? Yeah right!

Ive been in Melbourne for 5 years... and its takin this long to get a real feel for the place, and feel like Im starting to make a mark here as a musician..... its a big place (big crowded pond) that requires patience. It was not easy in the slightest at the beginning, for me, or many other kiwi musos here. Its a totally culture shock. And it fucking frightening to leave home! Leaving everything you know behind.
..... so many kiwis move here, its not a gimmic anymore to be an "overseas" band.

We definately don't get watered by anyone...
we have to sometimes work a little harder to compete with the local bands all ready here, who have lived here since birth and have a larger network of friends to support them.

We kiwis tend to support each other a lot... we don't get any support from NZ .... some would even call us traitors, and wankers, for wanting more out of our music careers.

Basically... theres SHIT LOADS of venues and HEAPS MORE PEOPLE come out to live music without harst judgement..... They enjoy and appreciate live music more it seems.....

I won't be coming home to live until I want to settle down... there too much going on here..

K Road Queens : 7 July 2006 - 1:04am

navy blue, ops.... yknow.

K Road Queens : 7 July 2006 - 1:03am

No offence to the hard working peps at nzm.com....

but I noticed recently, that there are news sections about bands that are very outdated...

For example.... "Shihad are now called Pacifier" didnt this happen in 2002??

and, Weta having a prime spot on a home page, when they havent been actively playing, or doing anything since 2002......

also (bitch moan bitch).... I reckon the website on a whole needs a fresh look.... How long has it been, nazy blue and dirty brownish grey?

Thoughts? Comments??
