Augustino @ The Kings Arms this Friday night. Doors Open at 9pm.
What amazes me is that boring fuckers like yourself are still around - writing comments like the above. Surely you must have better things to do???? If you're going to be negative - at least be constructive. Howz about changing your name to Ignoramus!
Oh Dear! I heard them when they opened for Goodshirt a while back - I thought they were pretty fuckin good. I don't remember being pissed that night either? I'll have to check them out again just to make sure.
Anyway - surely Augustino is good enough reason to head to the Kings Arms on the 28th Nov. eh!!!!
A very reliable source tells me that the Augustino's gig in Helensville with Gasoline Cowboy has been CANCELLED. They are playing together again though on Friday 28th November at the Kings Arms.
Ah ha ha ha - wicked - knew some geek would bring that up at some stage. How very very boring. Why are they the same? Label, singers 'apparently' look similar??? Again - simple & boring!
Just for the record - the difference between a 'shaved' head and a 'bald' head is much the same as the difference between Oasis and The Beatles, a mod and a rocker, a kangaroo and a wallaby, soup and broth - ie they are very different!!! Joel has a 'SHAVED' head!
As for a smile - give the geeza a beer, a cigarette, some good music - and a few people to enjoy it all with - and you'll a smile your Mum would fall in love with!
Augustino's Debut Album 'One Day Over' is out on Monday 11 August!!!
And if you're REAL keen - there's a rumour Augustino may be palying the King's Arms the night after (23rd August) - so if you're not too shagged from the night before... you know where to be!
I don't think Augustino will do a mellow encore again - they had a fill in bass player - so I think were understandably scratching for another song.
Someone shouted out for them to encore Motley Crue - I suspect Crumb and Augustino could probably combine for a mean ass Crue cover - maybe one day!?!?!?
Sorry about the last blank post.
By-the-way: Fuckin Nice One!!!
AUGUSTINO SCORE PLACEBO SUPPORT!!!
Augustino are playing their favourite watering hole this Thursday night - with Crumb!!!
Augustino launch their debut album on August 11 - so you'll get a taste of what's gonna be on it on Thursday. It'll be a fuckin good gig ladies and gents!!!
I heard from the Augustino fellas that their gig with Steriogram this Thursday at the Classic is (in their words) "expensive" - $15. Because they are SO bummed at the cost - they have told the Classic's door person to let anybody in for cheaper who says: "I heard from Augustino that I could get in cheaper". So there you go.
It will be a cool gig - Classic gigs are always pretty cool. Apparently Augustino are going to play quite early - about 9pm. See ya'll there.
Saw the Captain Zero video on M2 last night - so it is out there.
Agreement with hollis - 'singles' often aren't released publicly these days - only to radio. But, I hear the Capt. Zero single will DEFINITELY be available very soon - with about 3 or 4 B-sides as well.
Dude - it's all just variated type of pop music. Andrew Brough is a master at writing pop tunes.
But, some might say the same about James Reid, or Gareth from Goodshirt - with songs like Sophie.
Fuck - I knew some gimp was going to say that.
Check this line: // the yanks (eg Nirvana) stole it // ???
Fuck rdor - you must be a real bland, boring old cunt. Most of the bands you mentioned I am personally fully into and influenced by. But music always changes to suit eras and movements - otherwise it wouldn't be (or remembered as being) cool. This is good, and diverse!!!
How fucking boring would it be if all the NZ bands coming out in the last 15 years all sounded the same??? Problem is that - unlike yourself obviously - most musicians and punters are into a bit of dynamic.
I guess on an international level - Nirvana / Oasis etc... must be shit and embarrassing because the Beatles were 'better' 30 years beforehand???
Oh no!!! - The Beatles 'basically created' the British 'individual identity' - everything else afterwards is shit and the yanks (eg Nirvana) stole it and made it even worse????????
Boring and embarrassing rdor!!!
Wellington had a good run of some of the most prominent bands around for a while - Shihad, HLAH, Weta, Fur Patrol, King Kapisi. Sometimes it's Christchurch, Dunedin or Auckland etc... Different scenes - different sounds.
Pardon my 'England' - i meant: 'a pretty good contingent from all over the country!'
Included in 'outside' Auckland bands - Salmonella Dub, Fur Patrol, and of course Shihad/Pacifier.
What Auckland bands??? I can only think of about 3 or 4 that are 'fully' signed to the 'major' labels, e.g. Blindspott, ElomenoP, Dimmer, Che Fu.
Bands like Tadpole, Goodshirt, Pluto, Augustino, Sommerset etc... are marketed and distributed by majors (Tadpole/Goodshirt/Pluto - EMI; Augustino - Sony; Sommerset - BMG), but are under their own labels or are hooked up with inde labels (e.g Tadpole/Pluto - Antenna; Goodshirt/Augustino - band owned; Sommerset - Shock).
You've got ya Betchadupas and Rubicons, but you've also got your HDUs and Slims.
I reckon you've got a pretty good contingent form all the country!
Check the Augustino website (www.augustino.co.nz). There are other places they're playing outside of the Beach Day Out.
