I saw Shaft again recently, they were amazing, the singer looks like my dad and the rest of the band look like my brothers! Got their brand new 2 song single and can't wait for the new album. An excellent excellent band, live and on recordings. Hey Lil Chief please rerelease Pooty!
i was at the gig last nite in auckland. thanks boxcar guitars, simon comber, and shaft - a very diverse and talented bunch of people!
i was skeptical about the chills but i was wrong, they were well worth it; a massive set, high point for me a reanimated rolling moon; the stuff i hadn't heard was spot on, must check out the new ep; even some of the stuff i wasn't moved by previously really climbed up out of the pit like a big sweating quivering mass of songitude and won me over.
thanks the chills, and whatever you do don't stop.
You're so right about the album, a total milestone.
As for the gig - woohoooohooooooo! now that's what I call a PERFORMANCE.
Unforgettable, superb.
Mark Petersen is the guitarist's name you mislaid, he's all over the album and I got myself a copy at the gig and have now listened to it right through about 5 times.
Like I said, woohoooohooooooo!!!
Either that or it was a goat and should have had some sick beside it
