Alien83: you have the MOTHER of all contradictions going on in your posts there...

my suggestion, shut up. pay $35 to see some top notch, and not so top notch kiwi bands and help out the more unfortunate in the world...
you've already paid a hell of a lot more to go and see various bands that you claim that they aren't you're favourite band in the world...why not do the same for this gig??

if not, i'm sure we could organise for a tsunami to come and rip through your house if you want...

Jenni :o) : 6 January 2005 - 3:57am

well, not that its a competition or anything...but I worked Christmas Day, Boxing Day AND the 1st of January.... :D

Jenni :o) : 5 January 2005 - 7:38pm

OMG, you're right about that cab-frickin-sav!!! my friend had one...she was like..."is this the drink I ordered?" we took turns tasting and smelling it...it was gross...i dare not even call it cab sav...stupid house wines...

we forgave them though, cause we managed to walk out without paying our tab (woops)...

fantastic. odessa at the last supper club was so where it was at.
hoegaarden, good friends, waiters wearing togas and funk was the perfect way to end and old year and start a new year.

aww bless ya Aka!!! yay for you going out and seeing them on a wednesday night.
I first heard these guys last year (thanks to A.L.H actually...) and they have been my absoloute favourite local band since then...
Every time they did a gig before I turned 18 I almost died cause I wanted to see them so bad. Finally got to see them live for the first time at national anthem and then a week after I turned 18 they did a gig at bodega...I cried at that gig cause I was just so happy...they are awesome live...

*gushes*

I've always wanted to call my kids these three names:

Lime, Ribena and Crayola.

Jenni :o) : 25 November 2004 - 8:49pm

ha ha ha ha, the two comments directly above this one...

combine them together, and thats EXACTLY what I was going to post in here about half an hour ago, before I decided it wasnt worth it.

I do however, love the new Greenday album. shoot me if you want.

Jenni :o) : 25 November 2004 - 8:32pm

not songs that i've heard, but i've sung...

Hine e Hine (the goodnight kiwi song) and the lords my shepherd (The Dorothy Buchanan arr.).

those two songs were ones that we sang as a choir on our trip to Canada, I swear I almost cried in the middle of L.A.X, it was 12am, we had been up for 3 days straight heading home and we sang Hine e Hine just before we boarded the plane. That was a pretty emotional moment.

//Is there subway up there?

ha ha ha, do you really need to ask that question? of course there is a subway there.

I personally recommend the service station closest to trafalger park...those blokes there are top notch! and they stock a decent range of toothbrushes...so if one feels the need to brush their teeth by the river...you're easily catered for.

In January it took me and my sister 13 hours to get to Auckland on the train, due to "heat restrictions".
On the way back from Auckland the train broke down in the middle of the central plateau for two hours [at about 3am] meaning two extra hours of extremely uncomfortable "sleep".

It was scenic though: I saw sleeping cows for the first time in my life, I never knew cows sat down to sleep.

Jenni :o) : 13 April 2004 - 2:23am

heh, we were talking about this at school last week actually.

from primary school the songs i remember were: 'blue suede shoes', 'my mums a taxi', 'tuatara blues', 'i've got the greens', 'nature', 'six months in a leaky boat', 'puff the magic dragon' and my personal favourite 'school is number one'

my little brother [he's yr 6] is currently learning: 'where is the love' - BEP

my college songs would have to be: 'loyal' - dave dobbyn and 'wake me up before you go-go' - by wham...plus many many choir songs....one of my most annoying/cliche memories is singing pokarekare ana at LAX just before we boarded the plane home from a two and half week choir trip to canada....*sigh*

//attend a canadian BBQ

yum. i got to go to an authentic back-yard cook-up on canada day...absoloutly awesome, such a great atmosphere - all the neighbours around, cooking up 'dogs' and 'patties', the back-yard was all decorated with red and white and we let off fire works...it was so cliche' lol.

//B.C. or Oregon bud goes for insane amounts of cash down in The city or L.A.

The stuff from Texada Island [North of Vancouver] is apparently right up there in the big earners...i heard stories about 2 day camping trips that turned into week-long deals coz the weed was so good.
