Come along for some mid-week entertainment.
Any musos in hamilton wanna start a rock'n'roll band? We need a drummer. Guitarist maybe. Gotta look cool, be ready to take over New Zealand. Previous members are from a band called "frogletter"...
Squire Strats are good for money, replace the pickups and you'll have a good little guitar. Same with the epiphone les pauls... If your looking for a good first guitar I'd recomend either of those.
Rockquest is fun... but I wouldn't take it seriously... I entered a band in it this year as a joke... sang falsetto, really high... Just as a joke, and the judges actually liked it, even though my band was really shit, and we came third in the waikato region... Funny actually... Rockquest is fun while you're in school. But it doesn't help too much... Playing 2 songs in front of an audience of 13 year old girls isn't actually that productive. The rockquest goes more on image than music these days anyway. Getting a shit-load of gear for nothing is cool, but it aint doing these bands justice at all.
I think that bands should all start from the bottom, write a decent lotta songs and do real gigs... Having it all given to you from rockquest just sucks.. Band competitions suck. I dont feel the need to try and win, I want to work hard to get places with my music.
"she lives at 64 and i live at 66 but she doesn't wanna know any of my tricks" doo doo dooo. Hope this band has improved..... ug....
I agree, go and vote.
