Hi, my girlfriends band is looking for a drummer to join her already established band. They've been together for over 12 months and have played at a few different venues in Auckland like Edens Bar, The Dogs Bollix, St James Grand Circle and Hysteria. They're not looking for any particular drumming style, just someone who is creative and keen.

They have access to a good recording facility and are set to record soon with a view to radio play and perhaps an EP type release. The song available from the download link is a rough mix of one of the first They have approximately 13 songs to choose from at this stage but regularly create new material when we have a full band.

It would help if you have your own transport and gear as they practice out in Woodhill near Helensville. They practice at least once a week but try for two or more if they're recording or gigging.

I'm starting a new band as well and not just anyone can join. All of our songs are about postage stamps and you have to have a history of being abused by chickens. Our music is about the streets, tiptop and many other makes of icecream.

a) I am not evolved from apes. I don't believe in evolution...isn't it obvious to everyone that we're an extra terrestrial experiment...isn't it?!
b) What?
c) I was born with a jiggly old instrument that I sometimes play. I also play bass.
d) Excessive doesn't begin to describe how cool I am.

I don't live in Wellington so I'm even less use to you than I am to my parents. I am also a horse, sometimes a herd of goats and on Wednesdays a flock of geese.

Before anyone says anything...haven't posted here much so "assumed" that the usual HTML tags applied...piss and bollocks :(

Club Bizarre live presents, a night of alternative music:

$6 at the door.
Bands start at 8:30pm
Featuring....

nebulaone

Nearly 3 years in the making, nebulaone's new line-up has given them a seriously needed pop-edged alternative sound whilst still retaining the big, ambient wall of guitar wash that their audience adores. After the release of their demo EP at a Real Groovy in-store last year, the lads have been busy working on new material in preparation for a new recording project starting in late March.

Tegan

Headed by Paul Robinson of Slave Trader/D4/Rock 'n' Roll Machine/The Rainy Days, Tegan have made a huge impact on the Auckland scene in their relatively short existence. Regular airplay on bFM and support for everyone's favourite Canadian twins Tegan & Sara has ensured their success for a long time to come.

Zspyne

Since 2001, Zspyne have entertained audiences with their own take on New Zealand music. Like the soundtrack from a gothic edged porn flick, their music takes the listener on a journey of chugging guitars and industrial beats with the eerie vocals of front man Lee Keenan Blacks layered on top.

Railway Chess

Not much is known about the one man wave of electronic noise that is Railway Chess. Also a member of Room Noir, Railway Chess is an interesting twist on electronica in New Zealand...but entertaining none the less.

DJ Marq Bizarre

Mr. Club Bizarre himself, founder of Club Bizarre, co-founder of Bizarre Beats (NZ's first and only Dark music specialist store) and a great musician in his own right, will be playing some of his favourite tracks through the night.

I sometimes find blowing my skin flute gives me a sore neck.

Sometimes it's just not worth the effort. I was in a band about 5 years ago that ended very badly and the frontman from that group implied he was going to keep performing the 2 or 3 songs that I wrote. At the time I wasn't happy but what you'll often find is that people like that never prosper and therefore will never get a chance to perform your songs. FYI - this guy won the NZ heats of the INXS rockstar comp but had his US visa denied.....karma?!
