Well - finally exams are over for all of us and summer is just round the corner (hopefully)!
To cut to the point I'm a a 16 year old female vocalist/guitar player centrally located in auckland who's keen to start a band - so far I have a possible drummer - yet still trying to find the 'right' guitarists and a bassist!
As far as music which i'm into an would like to make - i'm deffinatly into rock! Yet nothing too hard metal! Generally i love it all though!
So if you have any questions/statments etc etc.. feel free to email me or just reply to this post! I'm hopin to get some guys/girls who are aged around 16-19 but anything considered!
Well if i think of anything more i'll add it but thats all for now! Email me on sportsg1rl7@hotmail.com or reply to this post!
Thanks
LIZ
Hey sorrry about the delayed responce! Been busy with exams etc etc (got chem tomorrow!) but anyway - i'm generally into a range of music - i really into rock altough not the hard metal and i can also stand some pop as long as its not too 'poppy' and cheezy if you get my drift so cutting it short the sound i'd want to produce would deffinatly be rock!
Bands i'm into: well cant say i can write out a massive list like you as i generally like particular songs rather than complete bands!
Although in sayin that my favourite band would have to be the chillies! Anything with some good guitar solo's! I like some of ACDC (within reason), nirvana pacifier, blindspott, foo fighters, creed, incubus, metallica (again within reason!), system of a down, U2, silverchair, goo goo dolls, audioslave, limp bizkit, an some of our lady peace.
Anyway if any of that colides nicely with your taste let me know!
Cheers LIZ (email me if you want sportsg1rl7@hotmail.com)
Hey i guess i'm in the same situation as you. I'm play more rymthic guitar an also a female vocalist. I'm 16 years also and interested in forming a band. I've come across quite a few guitarsts yet having trouble finding the drummers and bassists. Yet in saying that - i dunno if i've found the 'right' guitarists yet. Anyway, i'm centrally located too, but if your intersted reply to this or give me an email! sportsg1rl7@hotmail.com
Hey the link you add didn't seem to work?! But also thanks for your comment. The thing is i'm only really willing to spend around $500 to begin with then upgrade where necessary. I know theres lots of guitars out there and it could be easy to but an expensive one staight away yet i'm tryin to refrain my self and use my money elsewhere.
Surley you must be able to buy second hand fender for $500 - shouldn't it just depend on the year and condition which would bring down the price (mainly!).
Apart from that, which guitars would you recommend for the price range which i have. I know the 'rock shop' are selling Fender Strats for $599 - any good?
Cheers.
LIZ
Hey i'm looking to buy a fender strat or tele for around $300 - $500. If you know anyone or have one you want to sell send me an email!
Would like one in good condition, reasonable price, and 2nd hand.
Email me: sportsg1rl7@hotmail.com
or leave a message on this page.
Auckland area if possible although if somewhere reasonably close i'll consider it!
Cheers.
Well t hanks everyone for your advice/suggestions! Im still pretty keen to buy an Ibanez, mearly because of the fact of being different! Everyone tends to have Fenders! And haven't been recomended that much else (apart from gibson - which i'm not that keen on the looks!)
Looking at Ibanez (plus any other suggestions) which model numbers to people recommend for spending $400 - $500 ish (second hand probaly getting the best deal for money!)
As i've said earlier, the RG550 has been recommended, any further comments/suggestions? Thanks all.
Gear - well buying guitar! (Just trying to find a good one - any ideas?) Got an electric at the mo - well its my brothers an a practice amp but thats about it :-/ my goals a car next so might have to wait abit! As for bass... ahh.. um.. yeh.. maybe not! Might pay to keep looking around! Also need drummer! How bout i provide the place you provide the gear :-D i'm sure it'll all come with time.
Well yeh, I still don't exactly know exactly who you are etc etc so your most willing to speak some more (although might not be best to do it over forum - email me if you want - up to you!)
As for the St Kents part - just wondering - you live out that way so took a stab in the dark! Also by bro goes there so would have got a run down on you but all good!
Enjoy your day!
Practice place - not exactly - although parents could be conned into letting us use the garage. I don't exactly have the equipment though! I've had a few guitarists reply to this so its now a matter of finding a drummer and bassist! So keep your eyes open! (i have a friend who's interested in playing the triangle! - don't know if i'll accept his offer though!)
Any ideas of where i can find one of these (second hand)? I've been trying on trademe, trade-exchange but any other suggestions?
Thanks for your comment.
Ok cool, so you interested in possibly forming a band? It'd deffinatly be rock based and depending on what others want, might be interesting to start with a few covers to get going in the right track?! Also, any chance you go to St Kents? And if you have any other mates who for instance play bass etc, get them to check out this add! Cheers.
Ok, so again, considering Ibanez for around $400-$500 which models would you recommend? I hear the Rg170 is basically a beginners guitar and that posibly an Rg550 as well as 'Roadstar' are good. Whats your opinion on these?
I'm living in Remuera. And influences: as i said - a range- usually what evers on the radio (94.2 or 90.2 - just none of that 'girlish' music - eg Kyle Monoguie) but favouite band would be Chilli Peppers. Anything with some rock and classy guitar playing goes down well!!! Where abouts are you from? And what are your influences?
Hey all, i'm wanting to buy a guitar for around $400-$500 (probaly second hand) yet i'm faced with problem of which type to get! My intentions for the guitar is to play a mixed/variety of music excluding heavy metal.
Origionally i was planning to buy an Ibanez (Rg170 or 550 to be presis) yet i've been recently told this type of guitar wouldn't be suitable to forfill my needs. This range (Ibanez) has been recommended by a number of people yet now, through imformation i've been told i'm having my doubts.
Today i've been recommend fender telecastor, stratocaster and also gibson. Apparantly these would suit my requirements.
Can you all please have your say on this issue. I'd like to know what you, experienced or knowlegable guitar playes do and would recommend. I don't want to go buying somthing which wouldn't be suitable. Could you also please tell me where good places to buy second hand guitars are.
Thanks.
(Also no hard feelings to the people who have given me advice and if i have turned it down. Thanks all.)
(For the referance - it's Liz'a brother placing this post!)
If you just email back to her, she'll forward it onto me.
Cheers.
Hey, I can teach you guitar if you like. I've got classical experience of 'bout 8 years, and been playin' electric for about a year and a bit. I play lead guitar for a band in St Heiler's and I live in Remuera.
I'm 18 and go to St Kents College- e-mail back!!!:-)
NZ has a great music culture! Lets keep the music flowing, enjoy it and not criterise the types which we dont like!
Hi everyone, my name is Liz i'm 17, first year auckland uni this year. I'm attempting to create a band so if anyone is interested.. keep reading!
I'm generally into rock but my tastes are open to others opinion. I'd like people to be around my age (so from 16- 24) if possible!
As stated in the topic i am a singer, i've had vocal lessons and will continue to do so this year. I play a bit of guitar but not much.
Therefore looking for guitarists, bassist and drummer! Plus any other instrument which would give the band a unique sound! Send me an email if your interested or post a reply!
