oh_dear : 30 July 2005 - 1:02am

Just read your post portia.... apologies for my assumptions above. You seem intelligent and many of your comments well thought out and justified... so cheers.

oh_dear : 30 July 2005 - 12:55am

Thanks for your initial effort to reply to my post Kirst.
Let me make it clear that my questions weren't out of spite, asking you to Prove or Justify something... but out of pure interest as to what it is you like so much about them. Im not too sure what you personally find great about them from your post though, it was quite non-committal but as i said thanks anyway.
Portia - Even though i do agree with a lot of your opinions: Fine, you have a really strong opinion of 48 May's music and its good that your expressing it (after all thats what this forum is for) but i think you are being just plain rude, and your posts reek of supposed superiority.

oh_dear : 29 July 2005 - 4:48am

Skimming over the comments in this forum, i have noticed that most of the Fan Posts (eg: pro-48May) are generally just straight '48 May rock' 'they are talented' 'i love 48 May'. So i was interested to know exactly what it is about 48 May's music that you fansters are going nuts over: Is it the way you feel listening to their music? Do the lyrics really connect and inspire something in you? Perhaps they are good to dance to? Is it the musicianship of a single player, or maybe the way the group connects together as a band? Or even is it just because you think they're spunky?
Cheers, and enlighten me. :)

oh_dear : 9 July 2005 - 11:13pm

//and there is NOTHING not NOTHING that is cool about chris martin

wanker. he has a beautiful voice and that is cool.

oh_dear : 6 July 2005 - 3:47am

they're actually represented surprisingly well in hardcore scenes...

oh_dear : 6 July 2005 - 3:46am

So boys....... whats it like over with Uncle Sam? ;)

oh_dear : 26 June 2005 - 1:03am

//and oh_dear i never ever said ...
oooo i love the 'i never ever said' game. ok my turn:

//Other people besides me come on this forum
I know! i never ever said you were the only one coming on this forum Kirst, i just mentioned your name because you probably post the most frequently, thats all.

//i never ever said it wasnt ok for anyone to voice their opinions....
And i never ever said or implied that you HAD said that.

//but allow for those who do like the band to have there opinion too?
Why ask me? i never ever said you shouldnt voice your opinion, quite the opposite actually, i said i thought it was good that you were standing up for a band you love :o)

oh_dear : 23 June 2005 - 9:25pm

Yeah, i called up and checked... 6:30 it is! should have done that in the first place...

oh_dear : 23 June 2005 - 8:37pm

so 6.30 at real groovy tonight? can anyone confirm this time....

oh_dear : 22 June 2005 - 10:26pm

Awesome. How'd you come to hear about them, and listen to their music?

oh_dear : 22 June 2005 - 3:54am

Honestly, this is such a funny forum. sometimes i actually laugh out loud at the comments posted here.... Anyway, To fans of 48May on this forum who are desperately defending their honur and apparently mindblowing talent : Boo Fricken Hoo. Does it matter this much to you that people on a website dont like a band that you do, so you spend an incredible amount of time (yes kirst, i have you in mind) complaining about it??! Have you not realised that much of the negativity in this forum has stemmed from these posts? And have you not realised that some of these horrible nay-sayers will stop their hurtful attacks on your precious band if you stop encouraging them by questioning and challenging their opinions (and providing amusement...) ?
On the other hand, good on you for standing up for a band you really like, even though i think they're crap it doesnt mean you or anyone else has to. (Note: this last sentence can be used for you too by conveniently inserting your opinion of the band)

oh_dear : 19 June 2005 - 11:17pm

its called 'The Fear' by a well known NZ band called 'The Feelers' and if you wanted the lyrics...

Don't play the tortured artist with me,
Or you can pack up all your bags and then leave,
Yea you know what I'm saying and
I'm praying for you to take heed.
It's like your mother was drunk all the time
And your brother turned to a life of crime,
You fear he's lost direction,
You feel he's finally lost his way

[Chorus]
Well look out on the bright side,
Look out to the world
Look out at all the boys and the girls
Just look out on the bright side,
Look out to the world
Look out at all the boys and the girls

Don't play the tortured artist with me,
'Cause it's not all about you now what about me
You can save your breath now son 'cause
I never said that I was going to leave you,
It's like your father, He never came home
And your sister spent her life on the phone
And all the other kids used to give you shit
All the time.

[Chorus]

Maybe I'll dive for treasure
Or maybe I'll ski the world
Or maybe I'll just ao live in the hills
Maybe I'll find my pleasure with
Some far off eastern girl
Or maybe I'll still be living in the hills ... Yea

Don't play the tortured artist with me
Don't play the tortured artist with me

It's a fear fear of losing direction,
It's a fear you've lost your way
It's a fear of losing face and that
Someone can replace you
It's a fear of losing direction,
It's a fear you've lost your way
It's a fear of losing face and that
Someone can replace you
'Cause the path is always better
When there's someone in your way
Trying to find their way to escape

[Chorus]

Just look out to the world (repeat)
