Do you know if the filmed footage is available anywhere yet? It's just that I was actually at that gig and whilst I recorded the broadcast off the radio, it would be even better to actually get hold of the footage.
Thanks.
Hehe... no offence taken at all Geekboy. I'd be the first to say how average the photos are :p.
Anyway, here's hoping The Mint Chicks make it back to your shores very soon ;).
Only 'average'? I thought they were pretty good. Haha, ok I'll admit I took those photos (the Camden Barfly ones) and yes they were only average at best :p. Bear in mind though that 1) I'd never taken photos at a gig before and 2) I took the photos using my crappy Olympus digital camera.
Actually at the gig, there were a couple of professional photographers taking photos and it appeared that the thing was being professionally filmed as well so maybe that'll surface in the future.
Anyway, thanks for putting those photos on your site Geekboy. Much appreciated :).
I've posted something about this elsewhere but I thought I'd just post in the proper place as well.
I saw The Mint Chicks in London on Thursday in what was only their second gig outside of NZ and Australia. I knew very little about them but I was impressed with what I saw. They had a lot of energy on stage and their musical style was very interesting. Not normally what I'd listen to (my musical taste pretty much starts and ends at Led Zeppelin) but it'll be interesting to see how the rest of the UK receives them.
Good luck to these guys!
Maybe it's a bit late now but I saw The Datsuns in London last week. It was a show that was being broadcast live on the interweb.
I've been into The Datsuns for well over a year now and had been desperate to see them for ages. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. It was a nice, 'cosy' (as Dolf described it) venue which was pretty packed. They opened with a new song before going into MF From Hell. The real highlight was Harmonic Generator which really built up as it went along. The jams in the middle of songs like Fink For The Man were ace too.
The new material sounded pretty good. We have to wait until monday for the new album over here but I'll pick it up as soon as I can.
Here's a link to some photos from the gig if you haven't already seen them.

Pommy Radio? Honestly Aka... after all I've done for you.
I was at this gig. The Mint Chicks were excellent. I'd only ever heard one of their songs before and it's not normally the type of music that I'd listen to but they put on such an awesome live show that it really didn't matter.
I guess I'll go and post in The Mint Chicks artist topic now.
Thanks Crikey. I don't have x-fm tv (I'm presuming it's a cable channel) but I was hoping they may have put it up on their website. Here's hoping it surfaces there or on DVD.
Thanks for looking into it.
