Yep their were heaps of more deserving acheivements, noticable missing was the success on independants on the internet.... even in the nominations e.g. Overseas acheivement, one would would have thought dance acts DNE getting programmed on MTVEurope, was worthy of a nomination..... (but you have to be nominated by a major/indie distributed through one)....Interesting that Rodger Fox Big band took out the Jazz album when The Chris Mason Battely Group has earned over US$30,000 payback for playback (equal to NZ$68,000) on MP3.COM for thousands of international downloads and sales...I would think that was also worthy of international acheivement as well.
Their are many great bands out of NZ......the only thing that makes the Fur patrols and Zeds different is the money sunk into them by majors.
You can make any shit a hit f you pump enough money, payola and media control at it !!
Thank God for the internet and for the likes of MP3.com putting the power back into the hands of the artist.
If your a muso would you rather have a Tui award and owe your record company shit load of money or earn thousands on MP3.com for a site that took you a few hours to set up !!!

MMMMMM never seen any unsigned or truly indie acts on ICE !! All just another controlled by the NZ majors and their associated indies !!! Im sure..... As for poor Ol breathe........ dont they get a bloody hard time..!!! Not quite as Spunky as Zed, yes so true about the videos...Its that head wobbling thing that pisses me that the lead singer does, coupled with the fact he could do with some Jenny Craig food, I would have thought the vid choreographer/stylist would have sorted that !! For all the money pumped in by Sony !!
I guess they have as much chance of breaking it big as any other signed in NZ act... in the US or Europe market places of course....er none and phuck all !!
